Gender Identity Disorder is a clinical term describing Gender Dysphoria and related conditions. There have been movements to persuade the medical community to cease classifying this as a mental disorder.
This term was used in the DSM IV but replaced by the previously-deprecated term Gender Dysphoria in the DSM V.
