True Transsexual is a term used in the writings of Harry Benjamin and others to denote an individual whose physical anatomy and gender identity are genuinely in conflict, as determined by clinical diagnosis.
The term has been used to differentiate these individuals from those gender identity conflict is of lesser intensity.
