Stu Rasmussen(b. 1948), aka Carla Fong, is the individual regarded as the United State's first openly Transgender mayor.
Rasmussen was elected Mayor of Silverton, Oregon in 2009. Rasmussen's gender identity was well known to the population at the time of election.
