Stu Rasmussen (b. 1948), aka Carla Fong, is the individual regarded as the United State's first openly Transgender mayor.
Rasmussen was elected Mayor of Silverton, Oregon in 2009. Rasmussen's gender identity was well known to the population at the time of election. Rasmussen served as City Council member of Silverton prior to the mayoral election.
Rasmussen is regarded as being fiscally moderate and socially progressive.
Trivia
- Carla Fong has been an occasional attendee of Diva Las Vegas ever since the early years of the program.
