M*A*S*H was a very popular long-running American television series, produced as a spin-off of the 1970 film of the same name. The specific genre of M*A*S*H is unclear, but it is considered somewhere between a medical drama and a sitcom. The series originally aired from 1972 through 1983 on the CBS Television Network.
A featured character in the series was Corporal Max Klinger, played by Jamie Farr. Klinger originally served as an orderly and general flunkie and was later promoted to Company Clerk. While performing in the former role, Klinger attempts to gain an unfit psychiatric discharge from the Army by regularly wearing women's clothing, among other various stunts.
Klinger's crossdressing was curtailed when he was promoted to Company Clerk, following the discharge of Walter ("Radar") O'Reilly, and that aspect of his on-screen personality was phased out.
M*A*S*H reruns are regularly shown in syndication to this day. Various box sets are available wherever DVDs are sold.
