Surgeon recommendation for SRS!!!

Hi Ladies,

I would like to get some advice from the group for good and reliable SRS
surgeon in U.S. I come across Marci Bowers and Toby Meltzer. Are they
are good candidate? If you have good recommendation or any info that can
lead me to find a good surgeon, please fill me
in.

Thanks a bunch,

Gina

Hi Gina,

Gina here, those are the most used ones on the west coast. Dr. Suporn
in Thailand is superb but then you has to deal with the whole out of
country issue.

Hi Gina:

There is a very good conference next week in Massachusetts. It is called
First Event and there will be Doctors and other professional people
there who you can talk to. I Believe Marcie Bowers is going to be
there. You can check out the schedule at: http://firstevent.org/

Hi Gina R,

Thanks for your tip. I can imagine it will be very painful to deal with
the entire travel to Thailand. Have you done the SRS? Do you know if
anybody who have done it? I would like to learn more about that from the
group. Also do you know if anybody have urination or other issues after
the surgery?

Thanks for your help and have wonderful day,

Gina L

SRS is serious business, so proceed with caution. Marci Bowers is a TX and knows her stuff.
In our group there are several TX who would be helpful to speak with. I don't want to post up their names without permission. I hope you will join us at DLV 2015 and meet up with them.

Meanwhile, if you haven't yet read "Alice in Genderland', I would refer you to her site;
http://www.aliceingenderland.com Hope you find it informative.
Another site in Los Angeles, CA is; http://tgsurgery.com/

I suggest you visit with several surgeons and talk about your goals. Then, request a copy of your e-health record from each of them. You will read what each surgeon 'heard' during your visit. Did they understand and write down your concerns, correctly. This goes for any procedure, as in my case. My surgeon didn't understand what I wanted and I was disappointed with the outcome. Plan on a long initial day of surgery and many follow-up visits over at least a 6 month period. This long term viewpoint makes Thailand difficult to justify. Cost isn't the only consideration when you think long term recovery and the healing process. Also, you will need two letters from therapists.
Find a provider here;
http://www.wpath.org/

I hope this is helpful.

Surgeon recommendation for SRS!!!

I'm "in the system" for surgery this year. And I agree with Kandi it's
serious business, which needs to be considered completely before you
make the step, which is why The WPATH (I think that is the acronym,
Google it) is in place to protect you and the doctor.

I know several ladies that have seen most of the doctors and they've all
been happy with there results. Except Kandi it seems. So she would
probably be a better source than me.

Surgeon recommendation for SRS!!!

I would agree with Annie's comment. I have known many girls who have
gone both domestically and overseas, and all seem happy with the
results. I will offer that this has not been the case with other plastic
surgery - i.e. facial, implants, etc. If you are seriously shopping,
attending one of the conferences where several surgeons are presenting
may be useful.

Hi Kandi, Gina (the), and Delaney,

Thanks for sharing the info. Your info gives me more insight for my
case. I just wonder who are the surgeons performed the SRS on you ladies
beside Marci Browers?

Yeah Kandi, If time allows, it will be nice to join the DLV this year to
speak with you ladies in person. Indeed I did meet some of you in 2009
and 2010 at Bellagio.

By the way, can anyone in the group share your experience on Breast
Implant? I am thinking about it as well. However I have concern on its
safety and the possible replacement of new implant after ~10+ years that
they are a show stopper for me. How do you ladies feel about that?

Thanks,
Gina L

I hope you can join us for DLV 2015.
If you do, I suggest you talk with Jessica at EHM regarding implants.
For myself, please join me for lunch on Tuesday at the Blue Ox.
We are looking forward to meeting you.
best wishes,
