It looks like Goodman has group rates for 8 or more attendees, if we
have a large enough group.

Wonderful Town Group Tickets

Postby Valerie » Sat Sep 24, 2016 1:21 pm

I saw a minimum of 10 for group rates. Please point me to info for groups of 8 if you can.

Regardless, I'll volunteer to be the organizer for group tickets at this event.

If you want to sit as a group and have me buy tickets, please respond on this thread or email me directly. You're only confirmed if I list you in a reply on this thread. I'll update as I get responses. Payment will be expected when you arrive at the theater. Cash preferred. Also, you'll need to arrange to pay me even if you you find that you cannot attend (unless you cancel and get that confirmed before I make the purchase). I'll also send you a private note if you want to pay ahead of time through paypal. I'm looking at the $80 tickets starting in row GG of the Mezzanine.

You may lobby the group for more expensive group seats if you'd like. There are still some small groups toward the front of the mezzanine for $105 or $101. There are also some groups of the $107 tickets available at the back of the main floor and some $36 tickets in the obstructed view balcony seats on the side of the theater. (Amanda, can you tell us anything about the view from those seats? Based on availability and grouping, I'm not expecting that we'll want those.) This performance is not showing upon Goldstar, but I'll certainly check there for discounted tickets before finalizing the purchase.

Regardless of which tickets we purchase as a group, I'll report the total including fees as soon as I know what it is.

Amanda, if you can suggest a better way to purchase, I'm all ears. I suggest that we make the purchase by Oct 1, one week before the performance. Also, Amanda, can you give me any guidance as to whether that's a good deadline? I note that tonight's performance (I'm writing this on Saturday afternoon) is almost sold out. The one a week from today is about 50% sold in the mezzanine and mostly gone on the main floor.

Email me or reply to this thread ASAP if you want to be in on the group purchase. Current deadline is Oct 1. If I see seats filling up, I may move it up. If not, I may move it farther out. Regardless, RSVP as quickly as you can.

On this page, it notes that groups of 8+ can receive discounts if
ordered by Oct. 3

Hottix has, today, opened up some tickets for Wonderful Town, including
the performance we're looking at. Considering that they are just over
$50 it might be worth grabbing before gone.

Goodman also offers discounts on any mezzanine tickets available on the
day of performance, after 10 A.M. I believe.

As for the side/obstructed view seats, I can't comment specifically on
the ones at this theater, as I haven't sat there. However, general
experience with those sort of seats elsewhere suggests that they usually
are not all that bad. Typically, you don't have full sight of one
wing/upstage right or left. But, since most action doesn't happen
there, anyway, it isn't the biggest loss if one is looking to save
money. And, considering that they are often available as almost a group
or box seating area, it can make a certain amount of sense.

As of early Friday evening (09/30) no one has joined for the Wonderful Town group tickets. Is anyone interested?

There are 5 commitments for Wonderful Town. I'll be buying the tickets on Sunday afternoon. Tickets appear to be $82 including the print at home fee (unless they spring some other fee on me at at checkout... or some tax).

The five for which I'll be buying tickets are:
Valerie
Amanda
Laura
Annie
Ginger

If I've missed you, let me know on Sunday morning.

Wonderful Town group tickets have been purchased. Final price is 55.35 per person.

Thanks to Amanda who urged more patience on my part. Hottix added tickets early Monday morning. We are now in the next higher tier of tickets. We'll be seated in row DD (no giggling, ladies) instead of GG (you can giggle at that one).

LOL! :)

Seriously, I would like to thank Valerie for doing this for all of us! :)

Makes it much easier since I'm arriving late this year.
