Couple of questions

Postby Michelle V » Thu May 21, 2015 8:12 am

Couple of questions here.

If I get a hotel out by the airport, how easy is it to drive to events.

If I stay downtown can you take the train with out having to carry your bags up stairs to the hotel? My right knee can't handle that anymore. Thanks.

Which airport? There can be quite a difference in ease and travel time.

In general, parking is more of a concern than is driving and travel time. Parking downtown is usually available but not cheap. Parking in the Lakeview (Boystown) area can be a challenge. Parking in the Oak Park area is easy.

Again, which airport? (and which hotel?) I'm familiar with many "no climb" subway/el routes but it depends on from where to where. :)

Say what?

That's the old name for JFK in NYC. This is in Chicago. Do you mean O'hare by chance?

Couple of questions

This posting is from: amanda
----------

Some of the downtown L stops have elevators (Clark/Lake, Jackson, just
to name a couple on the Blue Line.) Buses are low floor, without stairs,
and can be "knelt" a bit for ease of stepping on/off or pulling a piece
of luggage.

I'll let others comment on driving, but some of the O'Hare airport
oriented hotels (especially in Rosemont and near the Cumberland L stop)
are conveniently located near transit.
