Partner Dancing Anyone @ DLV 2015?

Postby kandi.dolfen » Sun Feb 22, 2015 11:12 pm

I'm looking forward to DLV 2015 and enjoying the vacation activities!
I also want to dance with a partner at either the Paris or some other dance venue.
I know Ballroom, Latin, West Coast Swing, NY Hustle, Nightclub 2-Step and many more styles of dancing.
I can both Lead and Follow my partner.

I just learned that Jill will not be joining us this year due to her illness but hopes to join us next year.
Anyone know what I'm talking about and want to dance with me?
Please let me know via email:

Yes, finding a dance partner is a wonderful way to really feel like a gal. I took ballroom/swing/slow dance classes her in LA with a very nice teacher who understood my interests in wanting to learn these as a woman - how to let the man lead me.

It's really very freeing to now lift my right hand up and move my left arm into the "his right shoulder" position and let the man lead the dance. So I would love to do the same during DLV. We might have to contact a few dance studios and let them know a few TG/CD gals would like to go ballroom/swing/slow dancing that week and can they refer us to some nice guys who love to dance and are open to gals like us.

Great Idea!!! I'm going to start checking online …..

We've had Ballroom Dance Instruction as a scheduled DLV activity a number of times in the past.

If anyone wants to look into it and coordinate it, it's not too late to get it on the schedule for this year. It would be a good fit a number of places on the daytime schedule.

OK, my goal in starting with this low key manner is to assemble a small group who are interested in dancing with partners. It will take a critical mass to begin this activity and probably take a few DLV cycles.
As for the dance instructor, I am one!

My problem is I am almost always taller than my partner making it hard to follow, but I would love to learn. Just let me know when.

I've danced with tall girls before (++6ft.) and had no problems.
It depends on the style of partner dancing.
Swing isn't a problem while foxtrot can be tricky.

Count me in! I'm 6'2" 177lbs and really enjoyed my few dance lessons ( I wore cute black flats, pencil skirt and long-sleeved rib-knit top) here in LA with wonderful male who was 5'11" 200lbs and we were in a very nice rhythm after just a few minutes of me simply letting him lead. I loved it and am ready for more at DLV.
