getting a corset

Postby melissa » Fri Aug 08, 2014 4:29 pm

I'm thinking of getting a underbust corset to help giveme a more fem shape. Do they work? can you wear them under clothes without showing? how uncomfortable are they? thanks for tour thoughts. melissa

I'm a big girl and I need one but it's uncomfortable after a while.

A great place to get them is Bad Attitude in Vegas. Tell Tushell I said hi.

A custom made corset if made right is quite comfortable. I got mine from
Romantasy.

I used to wear a corset underneath fairly often, but for those of us without naturally large hips, it can be a little hard to smooth out the lower corset edge. Corsets can also make big shoulders even more prominent due to how they push your arms up.

Now I mostly wear corsets just for special occasions where the corset itself is nice enough to wear it on top. I have about 3 corsets right now, and I just ordered a few more online. I went with corset-story.com who sell discount corsets though you should wait for their periodic sales. Other sites sell some of the same stock at similar prices. I generally go with steel boned corsets though I haven't tried any proper waist training corsets with spiral bones yet. The usual rule of thumb is to order about 4-5 sizes below your natural waist size.

I know I'm in a distinct minority here but I've always found corsets to
be a complete waste of money.

Flexees shape wear will give you close to the same result at fifth of
the cost.

What type of blouses/shirts does one wear when a gal wants to wear a
corset on top?

Be on the look out for the cheaply made corsets out there. A lot of
websites that what all they carry as is with a lot of local places.
Check and see if you can return it if it doesn't fit right or what ever.
What about a warranty? You will find most of them have a lot of items to
sell and have put a few corsets on there because they saw others doing
it. Go to http://www.timeless-trends.com. They offer a lifetime warranty
plus instructions on how to put a corset on. A corset is a very
beautiful piece of lingerie. You need to learn how to properly put a
corset on and how to wear it. If it hurts while you are wearing it is
either too small for you or you are trying to wear it too tight too
quick. A good made corset will be very comfortable to wear. Most only
wear them for maybe 12 or 14 hours a day. I my self wear mine most of
the day if not all day and all night. It is actually very comfortable.

I would usually wear a fairly simple ruffled or pleated blouse. The puffy sleaves help cover my big shoulders. If I want to be more traditional I would wear a flared skirt but it also works pretty well with high-waisted jeans for a more modern look.

I have some corset pictures from one of my recent trips to a fantasy ball (http://valoriesapphire.wordpress.com/20 ... of-jareth/). I think corsets are always going to be a little costumey just because most people don't wear them anymore but I think they can look very stylish.
