Dates for Diva Las Vegas 2023:

The DLV Volunteer Group has decided, by significant consensus, to hold
the annual DLV 2023 event during the week beginning Sunday, October 22,
2023.

Similar to last year, we will have a "Main Event", from Sunday through
Friday, and an "Extended Event" through the following weekend. The
majority of the significant activities will be happening during the Main
Event and hotel rates are expected to be more affordable during those
Main Event days.

Main event: Sunday, October 22, - Friday, October 27, 2023
Extended event: Through Sunday, October 29, 2023

As is our custom, a one-month Call For Comments is now open for any
comments on (or objections to) the tentative dates. This will conclude
Wednesday, March 8, and as of that date, if no significant issues have
been discovered, those dates will become final.

Comments on the tentative dates may be made either on the DLV Discussion
Forum, which is on line here:

viewforum.php?f=2

.. or by simply replying to this mailing.

All comments are assumed to be for public viewing unless stated
otherwise.

We strongly suggest caution in making any non-reversible arrangements to
attend prior to the dates being announced as final.

For those concerned about the delay, only once in our 25+ year history
have we rescheduled after the tentative dates were announced, and
history has shown that there will be only a very remote chance that
anyone's chosen hotel will fill up or anyone's airfare will skyrocket
this far out from the event.

Things to come:

Compared to other years, we are about one month ahead of schedule in
planning our upcoming event. We thank all volunteers for the smoothest
date selection in recent history!

We are anticipating a very safe and near-normal event this October, with
very few, if any, restrictions.

Our DLV 2022 follow-up pages are expected to be on line by the end of
February.

We expect to have information about DLV Discount Group Rates at the
Flamingo within the next few weeks. A general mailing will be sent out
when these are bookable.

In recent years, the daily schedule of activities has begun to take
shape at about the 3 to 4 month out point, so you can expect to see some
preliminary copies of the working schedule beginning in June-July or so.

Registration for the big event is expected to begin around July, and
all who have attended in recent years can expect a minimum-click
re-registration process.

As always, there will be no charge to register. Voluntary donations
will be accepted.

Please watch these mailings for more details as they develop.

Some extra feedback requested please:

The DLV organizers and volunteers take your enjoyment and satisfaction
very seriously.

Each year, following our annual event, we run a survey, which includes,
among other things, enjoyment ratings of the various activities which
make up our event.

Activity enjoyment ratings usually form a "cluster" in the 4-5 range of
the 1-5 scale. When an activity places out of cluster, we want to know
why, so we can adjust our programming to better match our activities
with our attendees' likes and expectations.

This past year, for DLV 2022, we had three activities place low and out
of cluster on the enjoyment scale. These are:

Rocky Horror Halloween Party, Downtown, Backstage Lounge, October 26
Ruths Chris dining option, Harrahs, October 27
Halloween Downtown, Fremont Street Experience, October 31

We're not looking for a name to blame or anything like that, we're
interested in finding out why these activities were not enjoyed as much
as we expected, and what we can do to refine our activities, and better
communicate what to expect at our activities.

If you attended any of the three activities above (or any of our
activities, actually) we're interested in your feedback, the good, the
bad, and the ugly, if applicable.

You can let us know either by posting in the DLV Discussion Forum (link
below) or by simply replying to this mailing.

If you wish to submit your report discreetly, please say so, and we will
not use your name in public.

Forum: viewforum.php?f=2

We sincerely thank you for your responses.
