Diva Las Vegas updates for July:

First of all, welcome to those who just registered or just joined our
mailing list. We're looking forward to seeing you in person this coming
October.

If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know, just reply to
this mailing.
. . . . .

We are right at the three month mark out from our big event in October.

Things are looking optimistic for a safe and near-normal event this year.
. . . . .

As of Friday morning, we have 109 individuals signed up to attend. It's
still far too early for any kind of accurate turnout projection, but in
previous "normal" years, a registration count just above 100 would
indicate a total turnout in the 150-ish range.

Activity updates:

Although our preliminary day-to-day schedule will not be ready for some
time, here are the latest high points as far as the happenings of DLV
2022.

We will be having a New Attendee Welcome and Reception on Sunday
evening.

Our first major gathering will occur on Tuesday, at the Bahama Breeze,
which we've used for this function since 2014.

Wednesday evening will be centered around downtown, with the primary
activity being clubbing at one of the mainstream clubs on Fremont
Street, preceded by a Dance Lesson.

The Pool Party will happen on Thursday afternoon.

A second major gathering will be planned for either Thursday or Friday
evening.

Golf will happen on Saturday.

Of course the big attraction on the following Monday evening will be
the big Fremont Street Experience Halloween Party downtown.

Please stay tuned for further information about what we will be doing at
DLV 2022.

Things to come:

Around the first of October, we will be opening up Activity Sign-Up.

This is when you tell us which of the various optional activities you
want to do.

Most of our activities are "No Sign-Up, Just Show Up" in nature, meaning
that all you need to do to participate is to be a registered DLV
attendee.

Some activities, however, require some kind of an advance sign-up,
headcount, reservation, and in some cases a pre-payment. These are
taken care of at Activity Sign-Up time.

You will be invited to return to your Attendee Information Portal (the
link you received after your registered) and make your optional activity
selections.

In most cases you will be free to change your mind and update your
selection until shortly before the big event.
. . . . .

During the week prior to the big event, we will be rolling out the
Final Attendee Information.

This will include such items as:

* The Bare Minimum (Quick-Start guide)
* Late Notices - Changes - Updates
* Contact Information
* Maps And Schedules, several versions
* What to do in case something is wrong
* Directions to major gatherings
* Setting up cell phone and e-mail activity reminders
* If you are feeling uneasy or uncertain
* Making contact, checking in, etc.
* Getting there and getting around
* Photography information and Guidelines

Further information will appear as the date approaches.
. . . . .

When you arrive in Las Vegas, you will be able to check in to our event
during On-Site Check-In at the Flamingo at designated times on Sunday,
Monday, and Tuesday.

You will also be able to check in during the opening gathering on
Tuesday evening.

This year at the opening gathering we will have two lines, one for those
who need name tags and another who just need to check in, thus avoiding
the back-up we had during check-in last year.

You may also check in at any activity marked "Check-In Available" on the
final schedule.
. . . . .

You can save time during the event by printing out your name tags at
home prior to the event and bringing them along with you. Printable tag
images will be available via your Attendee Information Portal as the
date approaches.

If you have tag holders from previous years, please bring those too.

Printed name tags and tag holders will be available at all activities
marked "Name Tags Available" on the final schedule.
. . . . .

During the event you can keep in touch with the others via the DLV Group
Text on your mobile device (most North American cell phone carriers
supported) or via email.

This year you will have the option to remove the display of your phone
number (or email address) from texts that you send via this service, for
enhanced privacy.

Big Sister volunteers needed:

Delaney (Big Sister Coordinator) writes:

Ladies, I realize it's only July, but we are currently short two Big
Sister volunteers.

Typically, there will be many more requests for assistance, probably at
least another half dozen. Please consider opting in as a Big Sister via
the DLV website.

Thanks.

You can sign up to be a Big Sister by returning to your Attendee
Information Portal (that link you received when you registered) and
clicking on the "Update Registration" button. Then select "Big/Little
Sister" and follow the prompts.

Alternatively, you can email: bigsister@divalas.vegas to volunteer.
