Only 38 days left, gang!
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Welcome:

Once again, several new people registered or joined the list in the last
week. Welcome to DLV. We're looking forward to seeing everybody in real
life in just over a month. You will want to be sure to make your travel
and hotel arrangements without delay, as prices are rising and space
is becoming tighter as the days go by.

We have a couple mailing list issues. If for some reason you are not
receiving these mailings, or those of other DLV lists, please let us
know. If you subscribed to the DLV Golf list and have not seen mailings
come in, please speak up. Also, if you know of anybody who signed up for
this list and is not receiving the mailings, please let us know. We've
had some problems with some Hotmail and some sissify.com addresses
lately.

I'm also just a bit behind in correspondence, as mail traffic has been
quite heavy. I'm trying not to miss or to space off anything. If you've
sent in something and don't either get a response or see in it a mailing
by next Sunday (March 31), please accept my apology and remind me.

Headcounts, tickets, reservations, etc.:

For those of you who have wondered about purchasing tickets, reserving
space for some activities, etc., here's how things are going to work.

Most of our activities are simply show-up activities. No sign-up, except
for the normal DLV registration, just show up at the correct place and
time. (Excruciatingly detailed schedule, explicit driving directions,
and a map will be sent to those who are registered about a week before
DLV.)

There are a number of them where space may be limited, where an advance
sign-up is required, or where a headcount is needed. On Wednesday, April
3, we will send out a special mailing detailing each of these activities
and specifically listing what must be done in order to join in on those
particular activities.

This will be followed by a personalized mailing to all who appear on
the DLV registration list, with a clickable link to a headcount screen
containing checkboxes for each of those activities. Everybody will be
asked to click on that link and be counted for what they wish to attend.

Changing your mind will be easy, just click on that link again and
resubmit.

For those activities where space may be limited, it will be first-signed,
first-served. Your "place in line" will be determined by the date/time
of your first affirmative response to that particular activity.

The actual headcount mailing will be sent out only to those who have
registered for DLV 2002. You may register on line at:

Frontier Airlines price drop:

Frontier Airlines has just announced $106 round trip tickets from some
markets it serves to Las Vegas. This fare is real and bookable and is
valid over the DLV period. Travel must be made on Tuesday, Wednesday,
or Saturday. No flight restrictions, but seats may be limited.

Sahara reservation games:

(slightly edited)

>>I just called Sahara reservations. They say they want $109.00 for Friday
>>and Saturday!!! What's going on?

>TRavelocity gives me Sahara $55 for Tue-Thu and $95 for Sat and Sun.
>What's to say you couldn't reserve Tue-Thu on their site, and Sat-Sun
>on Travelocity. Have you ever tried it before?

The weekday rate is definitely cheaper when booking directly with the
hotel. Note below says Sahara is now up to $119 directly, so that's over
$25 per day, over $50 for the weekend you would save with Travelocity.

The absolute worst they could do to you, and that would be if some desk
person just wanted to be a schmuck about it, would be to make you check
out of your hotel-booked room on Friday and into your Travelocity-booked
room. I don't see that happening, since they want to keep customers
happy. I'm sure if you presented both reservations when you checked in,
they would arrange it so you could keep the same room.

For the past three years, I've actually had two reservations, one for
the N+I period which was made by our company's travel people, and one
for DLV which I made personally. These are both Genuine Sahara<tm>
reservations, and I've always presented both at check-in and they have
never even questioned it.

I know of people who have actually moved from one hotel to another on
Friday to save $$$, but never of anybody who booked days separately to
do so ... yet. If you do it, please report on anything unusual.

Metamorphosis:

>>Again, this is not for everybody.

>Can you give me more information about this? Where will it be? I take
>it will not be an official Diva event, right?

It is organized separately from DLV. Only connection is that it happens
on the DLV weekend and that some of our people will be attending.

>How long will it last? Where will it be? What ages is it for? Will
>there be music, what kind? Bar or dry? Full of questions, huh?

Some of these are answered in Tina's notes below. More information will
come out in this list as soon as we get it.

Mailbag:

>I want to go to Diva Las Vegas. The Metamorphosis Fantasy Ball sounds
>like a lot of fun. Approximately how far will it be from the Sahara?

That we do not know yet. We don't know the location for this, and may
not know it right up until it happens. The people who are planning it
have been very quiet about where it will actually take place.

Rides should be available wherever it is.

Some more comments about the Metamorphosis thing appear in this mailing.

>I have a small RV and a car. My previous plans were to take the RV, but
>it wouldn't be very convenient for getting around in Las Vegas. Also I

>I will take the car.

Sahara does have a large outside parking lot behind the complex. I don't
know what the rules on parking RV's there are, but I'm sure a quick call
to their operator would find out.

>It is too bad about the price increases at the Sahara. But I want to
>be centrally located, and with the other attendees.

Yes, this is not uncommon at all, as the date approaches.

Some Metamorphosis notes:

Tina sends in these notes about the upcoming Metamorphosis:

>First, let me say that I have attended many fetish events over the
>years. I travel frequently because of work, and have lost count of the
>number of times I have attended weekly fetish parties over the years
>like Bound in DC and Abby Ehmann's Gomorrah in NYC, and annual events

>Some are pure fetish fashion (latex, leather, and all sorts of erotic
>and often skimpy clothing in-between), while others have more of an
>S&M (sadism and masochism) orientation where significant bondage and
>pain scenes are the main focus and fashion is secondary. Personally,
>I like both types of parties, but they certainly aren't everybody's

>Second, let me say that I know next to nothing about Metamorphosis
>because it is *brand new*. The first one hasn't even happened yet! It
>will occur during the 1st weekend of April. The 2nd one is scheduled
>for the 1st weekend of May, during DLV. It's a monthly party.

>I do like a couple of things about the way that they are organizing it.

>I like the fact that they are keeping its location secret to discourage

>it's enforced. Music is usually that thumping dance music called house
>(used to be techno or industrial or bass and drums, or any of various
>other genre names). It's fun to dance to.

>I've never been to one that didn't have a bar, unless they allowed full

>I would expect it to last until 4 AM, but again, it's brand new, so who

>>Is this the same as the Dressed To Thrill ball they had there last year?

>No. Definitely not. Dressed To Thrill is a copyrighted name owned by

>Fetish Fashion Ball held annually in Las Vegas. Versatile's showroom

>June, but I don't see any announcements about it this year so far. See
?http://www.versatilefashions.com/ and http://www.ms-antoinette.com/
>(this 2nd is a pay site, but you can browse a few Dressed To Thrill
>pictures from previous years for free, if you click deep enough). One

Admirers:

>I've looked at the registration form for DLV (i.e., the question: how
>experienced are you at dressing in public?), and it appears from that
>that admirers are not expected to attend. Is that correct?

We do not discriminate at all.

Yes, we've had admirers, both male and female attend, and we've never
had any problems. Anybody of legal age who identifies with the theme of
DLV and agrees to act as a lady or gentleman (or both, at times) will be
welcome to attend.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Another Sahara rate hike:

>I just checked the revervation site at www.saharavegas.com. They are
>listing May 3 and 4 at $119 per night! Can Diva Las Vegas get a
>discount on this price? Or do you think I might get a discount through
>one of the online biiking agencies?

My suggestion is to book NOW, whether it's the Sahara site or on one of the
discounters such as hoteldiscounts.com.

This is two increases within the past couple weeks or so, a sure sign the
place is filling up. It will probably be sold out shortly for that weekend.

No, we have no mechanism in place to negotiate a special rate.

you want to be added to the golf list.
