Activity Sign-Up is happening:

If you wish to attend our 2020 event and have not registered or have not
signed up for activities, please see the "What You Need To Do" item below
in this mailing.
. . . . . . . . . .

Everyone who was registered prior to last Wednesday should have now
received their Activity Sign-Up invitation email. If you were
registered prior to Wednesday and did not receive this, please let us
know. Just reply to this mailing. Those who registered on Wednesday or
after will receive their Activity Sign-Up invitation mailings on Sunday.

As of this time, the Ruths Chris dining option on Tuesday is full and in
a waiting list state, but the waiting list is currently very short.

The Chayo dining option on Sunday is approaching capacity.

One activity will most likely be relocated due to capacity issues.
See notice below.

There are a few other activity notices below.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Friday, March 13, is the deadline for group-purchase tickets for the
Absinthe show at 8:00pm on Sunday evening of DLV week.

Friday dinner notice:

The Friday evening dinner, originally planned for the Bootlegger Bistro,
will most likely be relocated to a different but similar venue due to
capacity issues.

Please watch these mailings and the Discussion Forum for notices.

Big Sisters:

Delaney (Big Sister Coordinator) writes:

My thanks to several girls who have stepped forward as Big Sisters!
However, we remain short two (2) volunteers. If you could possibly find
time in your schedule to support a new attendees, it would be most
appreciated. Most Little Sisters only need some help to get going, and
you could find a new friend!

You may volunteer to be a Big Sister by either returning to your
registration screen via your Attendee Information Portal, which is the
link you received after you registered, or by simply replying to this
mailing stating that you wish to be a Big Sister volunteer.

As an added incentive this year, those who volunteer to be Big Sisters
will be granted voting status in the DLV Volunteer Group for the current
year.

Thursday Drag Brunch update:

Nancy is reporting that the Drag Brunch at TI on Thursday of DLV week
is now showing over 70% sold, so if you are planning to attend and have
not purchased your ticket(s), please do so without delay.

Tickets are available at www.vegas.com and other authorized ticket
brokers. The DLV group will be sitting in the general admission
section.

What you need to do:

Yes, there's still plenty of time to get in on our big DLV 2020 event,
but the clock is ticking, prices for transportation and hotel rooms are
rising and some hotels are selling out.

Here's a basic summary of what you need to do if you want to join
us for DLV 2020:

* If you have not registered for DLV 2020 yet:

You will want to register ASAP. You can register on line here:

https://divalas.vegas/cgi-bin/dlv/aip.cgi

This opens the door for you! It gets you on the roster and gets the ball
rolling.
. . . . . . . . . .

* If you are registered for the big event:

If you have not yet signed up for optional activities, please do so as
soon as possible. Simply return to your Attendee Information Portal
(the URL you received shortly after you registered and the one sent to
you in your Activity Sign-Up invitation email) and follow the signs.

Most MyDLV members may sign up for activities by clicking on the link
on the main MyDLV screen.

If you do not want to do any of the optional activities, please go to
your Activity Sign-Up screen, scroll directly to the bottom of the page,
and click the SUBMIT button. This reconfirms your intent to attend DLV.
. . . . . . . . . .

* If you have registered (by last Wednesday) and have not yet received
your Activity Sign-Up invitation email:

SOMETHING IS WRONG! PLEASE LET US KNOW ASAP!

If this applies to you, simply reply to this mailing and explain the
circumstances.
. . . . . . . . . .

* Make your travel and lodging arrangements. DO NOT PROCRASTINATE!

Prices are rising and hotels are filling up and selling out! The more
you wait, the more you will pay!

Information on our suggested hotel for DLV 2020 appears here:

https://divalas.vegas/dlv2020/2020hotel.html

If our suggested hotel does not appeal to you, several others which have
been used by DLVers over the years appear in our Big List of merchants
and vendors on the web here:

https://divalas.vegas/vendors/#CasinoHotel

For those who will need to travel by commercial air, prices for the DLV
dates are on the rise already! Again, please do not procrastinate!
. . . . . . . . . .

* Plan your wardrobe.

Specific dress suggestions for every DLV activity will appear on the
final detailed schedule.

If you have any questions on what is and is not appropriate to wear to
any specific activity, a good place to get an answer is the DLV
Discussion Forum. This is on line here:

A good reference, of course, are the photos from prior events, going
all the way back to 1997. You can view these here:

Just click on any of the previous year tiles.

Covid-19 statement:

There has been a lot of recent concern, particularly on social media,
regarding the SARS-CoV-2 virus, better known as CoVid-2019.

Your organizers are well aware of the situation, and are monitoring for
any bona fide alerts or notices of any significance.

As of this writing, neither the US Center for Disease Control, nor the
Southern Nevada Health District (links below) have issued any alerts or
warnings regarding the Las Vegas Metro Area.

Also as of this writing, our roster shows no attendees coming from any
areas designated Alert Level 2 or above.

We intend to make no changes to our planned event as long as the Las
Vegas area remains at Watch Level 1 (practice usual precautions) or
below.

Should the level for the immediate Las Vegas area rise to Alert Level 2
(practice enhanced precautions) or above, we will introduce the topic
to the volunteers for possible changes to our program, which, if needed,
will be determined by a vote of the volunteers of voting status.

In any case, we ask all who are attending to please use common sense
and practice judicious personal hygeine, as should always be done when
in general public situations.

If you are particularly concerned, please be sure that you are getting
your information from well-known and well-regarded sources.

The following two links pertain to general travel in the US and to
travel specifically in southern Nevada, which, at the time, mostly
repeats the CDC information.

https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nc ... index.html
https://www.southernnevadahealthdistric ... oronavirus

The following two newspapers will be the first to break any significant
news regarding any spread of this or other communicable disease risks in
the Las Vegas area.

https://lasvegassun.com/

Please question any "news" regarding this situation that appears to be
overly sensationalistic or cannot be attributed to an organization which
is entrusted to speak with authority (health agency, clinical journal,
etc.) on the issue.

Please be particularly wary of any items posted on social media which
contain no such attributions, or questionable attributions.
