>One week later means the possibility of warmer weather.
It seems like each year we get one or more requests to move our
proposed dates either one week earlier or one week later, to
better assure us that we will either not freeze or not melt.
I am not a meteoroligist, but I did grow up in the family of one
(industry, not broadcast) and I did pick up a few things.
One thing I can say with a very good degree of confidence is that
the day to day weather conditions (whether you may freeze, melt,
drown, or blow away) are far more dependent on the short-term
variance than on the long-term averages. In other words, moving
one week earlier is very ineffective assurance that you won't melt,
and moving it one week later is no guarantee that you won't freeze.
In early to mid spring, there will be a 1-2 degree warming of the
mean temperature each week in Las Vegas, and that's less than most
people can sense without looking a a thermometer. It's really the
day to day conditions, which are not predictable 8-9 months in
advance, that determine if you will melt or freeze.
