>No one should be required to dress down to " todays standard level"

Hello Jamie,

I think this issue was settled by what was said earlier:

>>To make a long story short, there will be NO
>>relaxation of BDR during Diva Las Vegas.

So the BDR is the standard we all will abide or be required to follow.

Also to define it better:

>>The BDR guidelines are in place for a reason. That
>>reason is to protect the 99% of the people that come
>>to DLV. The protection I'm referring to is from those
>>who want, what Annie calls, a "dressing free-for-all".

On your comment:

>Why bother!! Annie is the best example of dressing down to.. Well why
>dress at all she looks like the boy next door. If that is passing?
>So be ot.

In my opinion, I DO NOT agree with this statement. Here's why:

Yes Annie dresses CASUAL, which is a big difference from "boy next
door".

NO she does NOT look like the "boy next door". The "boy next door"
doesn't wear boobs or put on make-up, which includes lipstick and nail
polish, wear women's jewelry, and carries a woman's bag.

She has make-up on, and FULLY dresses the part which is casual.

In fact while observing her by herself in the general public, I have
NOT seen any major type of head turning or gawking that is associated
with being read, in other words NO red-necking and public outbursts of
comments or movements to pointing her out as a tg or cd when she walks
around in casinos or in public.

I would say yes, that IS passing.

What is your criteria for 'passing'?

I have never seen her go partially dressed, if that is what you are
referring to by the statement "boy next door" look. It has always been
either Annie or her brother.

I've made my decision, I'll be in boymode next year, just like the first
five. Sincerely, J.

I think there are still some misunderstandings (and even some myths)
out there about what this BDR thing, more specifically the "D" part,
is all about.

There seems to be the perception out there that there's pressure to
dress in more casual or more conservative styles. I keep hearing this
over and over, but that was never intended and it's certainly not
stated in any of the writing I'm familiar with. For over 95% of our
attendees, the styles of dress have always been fine, and there's
nothing anywhere that says that the 95%+ of our people who know how
to dress and behave should change their style at all.

I really can't claim origin on that phrase. However it is true that
the guidelines are in place to assure that the event is not spoiled
by those who consider their personal ego-tripping and thrill-seeking
to be more important than the feelings of the group as a whole.

Well said! Annie is very nondescript in her appearance; a method
that works very well in passing. Look around at all women, not just
the little glitzy tarts that men gawk at. You will find that annie
falls into the countless thousands of average looking girls enjoying
casual attire.

I know that we all want to look like models, in reality we should be
pleased to fit into the average. Believe me, the more attention one
garners, the more conversing one must do and one good way for a TG
person to out themselves is to open mouth and speak like a man with
a woman's pitch.

Annie does fine. I have never known her to attract negative attention
and that makes for a good DLV where everyone can enjoy their time
without derrogatory incidents.

Margeth

I also want to add to Kumiko's statement that Annie carries herself
like a true lady whenever I've seen her in public. - Rosada

I've been traveling and not reading my messages all that carefully, but
I can attest that the cop who admonished Annie for j-walking at McCarren
Airport yelled, "Watch it lady you can get killed doing that" or
words to that effect. At least on that day Annie passed well!
