Let's see, how do I put this without sounding like a total snot here ...

>Especially no outrageous dress or activity.

>Then there's Night of Soiled Dove. Is there a
>conflict here?

No, there is no conflict here, and we've been over this ad nauseam.

However, once again for those who may have been distracted ...

>If I can't wear most outrageous outfit that night,
>this event isn't for me!

Yes, to Night Of The Soiled Doves you may wear about anything that does
not subject you to a citation for indecent exposure. Miniskirts are
fine, fishnets are fine, skyscraper heels are fine, leather/spandex/pvc
will be fine. These are all usual and customary to wear to a reception
at a cathouse. So will be the garb of celebate religious orders. :)

To the Limo Tour you may wear the glitziest evening gown you can find.

To the Bar Crawl you can wear the most revealing clubwear that you have
the {guts} to wear.

All of those outfits are (here's that word again) appropriate for the
time, place, and circumstance of the activity at hand.

However, anybody who wears any of the above to Lunch With Ginger, the
Art Tour, or any other mainstream activity will quickly learn how it
feels to be the second person ejected from a DLV activity!

Any more questions?

DLV is not as "stuffy" as the latest postings may have made it sound.
It really comes down to basic common sense.

For example, when having lunch or High Tea at the Four Seasons, do you
really want someone at the table wearing a little girl outfit? It did
happen.

The guidelines of COP and BDR applies primarily to mainstream
activities. And, the schedule shows what type of venue a specific
activiy is at. MS = mainstream, SV - safe venue, etc.

Of all of the activities on the schedule, Night of the Soiled Doves is
probably the one where anything goes. Not only are you allowed to wear
an outlandish outfit, it is actually encouraged. The only problem one
might encounter is getting in and out of the hotel, so a cover-up might
be appropriate. Again, just common sense. This might also apply to
other SV activities, such as the Alternative Bar Crawl.

One hint, when the sign-up comes out, there will be a limit to the
number of doves that can go to NSD. It's limited by the number of
people that can fit into the bar and parlor at the Ranch.

Deidre here.

Watching and thinking about all the chatter online re: DLV is
suggesting to me that everyone should be on their best behavior.
Especially no outrageous dress or activity.

Then there's Night of Soiled Dove. Is there a conflict here? If I
can't wear most outrageous outfit that night, this event isn't for
me!

Thanks for your reply.. Hugs, Deidre

My, your patience seems to be wearing thin. Thanks for the clarification
though. Deidre

Rosada, Annie, and LeeAnna are correct. The DLV website contains all of
the information needed about the Conditions Of Participation (COP), and
Behavior, Dress, Restroom (BDR) guidelines.

**
Speaking very freely, although DLV is considered one of the most cost
effective T* events on the planet, each one of us still spends a lot of
$$$$ to attend. For someone to will be selfish enough to blatantly
challenge the guidelines is, perhaps, someone who we may not want in
attendance. There are several other T* events in the country that may
be better suited to their tastes in clothes and make-up.
**

For those who might have some doubt about your acceptance at DLV, let me
assure you that we are some of the most friendly and accepting people
you will ever meet. We only ask that you try to follow the Conditions
Of Participation and Behavior, Dress, Restroom guidelines.

Case in point: Last year, I had the pleasure of having a candid
conversation with one of the new attendees, and found the reason she
attended was primarily due to the enforcement of the COP/BDR guidelines.

She stated she had attended other T* events in the past, and had been
embarrassed by some of the participants behavior and dress at those
events. This simple conversation validated to me that the DLV
Organizers of DLV are headed in the right direction.

The DLV Organizers consider DLV to be the premier T* event on the
planet, and work hard to keep it there. We have a myriad of activities
that range from the very mainstream to the alternative nightclub scene,
including a friendly visit to a well known brothel. :)

DLV also has some of the best make-up artists available in the country.
This includes Stephanie Williams, Glamour Boutique, and SSS from
Chicago. SSS is a new vendor to DLV, and is offering make-up and
comportment seminars to everyone on Tuesday and Wednesday.

All of these artists are currently scheduling make-up/make-over
appointments.

Yes, I do put my money where my mouth is, and have already scheduled a
make-up session with one of them.
:)
