Still in planning stages and looking for a room-mate.........

Hi all........

I am fairly certain I will be attending, I am still in the planning
stages of coming to my first DLV and would like to get a room-mate to
share the cost of a hotel. I am not too picky if I stay on or off the
strip. I was thinking of flying in on Wednesday or Thursday April 25th
or 26th and then leaving on Sunday April 29th.........I remember back in
about 1998 my ex husband and I stayed at Circus-Circus and rooms then
were in the $40 a night range, so either the cost of living is much
higher now days or there is a convention going on because rates all over
Vegas are higher. It's probably a combo of both, thus the need for a
roomie if at all possible. I am watching airfares from Atlanta to Vegas
as well.

I will likely be renting a car as I like the freedom of coming and going
as I please, no one has to share in the cost for that, and I wouldn't
mind toting gurls who don't have a vehicle around.

We have a roommate clearing house for just this. You can sign up for
it when you register, or you can submit your name in advance by
e-mailing: roommate@geekbabe.com

If you do this in advance, include your name (obviously), your e-mail,
when you will be arriving and departing, whether you have a room and
need a roommate or are looking for space in one, what scale of room
(budget? luxury?), do you smoke, do you (knowingly) snore, and any other
information that will help Diane make a better roommate match.

Room rates have been creeping upward over the past few years. Of our
suggested hotels, Sahara is $50-ish weekdays, much higher weekends,
Imperial Palace is $60-ish weekdays, slightly higher weekends, and St
Tropez offers $79 to DLV attendees on all DLV days.

We also coordinate ride sharing. You can sign up as a volunteer driver
when you register and it will be appreciated.

I'm absolutely positive that I don't snore. The way I know, you ask, is
that one night, I stayed up all night just to see if I snored ..... and
I didn't! :)

Now, if I can only figure out why the drawers of the dresser are open in
the morning after I wake up.
