Thoughts on Thursday show and limo tour.

Some thoughts on Thursday night:

For the production show, The Mirage has Love, a Cirque du Soleil
performance set to the music of the Beatles. (If you haven't bought the
CD yet, you'll be amazed at how good the remixes sound).

I'm currently planning on seeing it on the Friday of DLV, but would
anyone else want to go on Thursday? We would have to settle this rather
quickly as this is a hot ticket and will probably sell out quickly.
The show is dark April 22 to 25, and there is a 7PM and 10 PM perf on
the 26th, 27th and 28th. (The Saturday shows are out for me as I have
to grab a midnight flight back to the East Coast).

If there is enough interest, we could all just purchase our own tickets
and use it as a meeting point for the limo tour. We wouldn't all be
seated together, but that's not all that important at a production
show anyway.

Limo tour - can we either (a) spend more time at Fremont Street (say, a
half hour), or else skip it completely and visit the south end of the
Strip (Luxor, Mandalay Bay, MGM) or the Rio / Sands area instead.
Driving all the way to Fremont just to jump out and back in the car at
4 Queens is kind of tired.

Let's move this over to ORG. I'm going to copy Aiko on your note.

Personally, I think Love would be a good choice for the Show Du Jour to
mix with the Limo Tour, providing the timing makes it workable.

I've forwarded this to the Limo Team. Yes, there will be a few things
happening so that this year's Limo Tour won't just be a rewind and
re-run of the 2006 Limo Tour. :)

Hello Mary Beth, Veronica and I were planning on going to Love and the
day doesn't matter that much to us. Let me know if you would like us to
get tickets together for the show.

Love, Cathy B.

Hi Cathy.

I'm hoping this will be resolved fairly quickly so we can get tickets while
there are still tickets.

As I said in my first post, the show is dark from Sunday the 22nd
through Wednesday the 25th. There is a 7 and 10PM show on Thursday,
Friday and Saturday.

Saturday is out for me since I have to fly out at midnight.

I can't imagine the show being more than 90 minutes long, since it would
have to take a good 90 minutes to clear the house, seat the next
audience and give the performers enough of a break in between shows. I
have to think the 7PM show would let out at about 8:30, giving us plenty
of time to get to the limo tour staging area at the Mirage, so I'm
hoping this will be the Thursday production show.

If the organizers can't come to a decision on this by next Monday, I'd
be okay with getting tickets for either of the Friday performances.

I can't imagine the show would run more than 90 minutes, since they have
to change the audience and give the performers a rest inbetween shows.
The 7 PM show would have to end by 8:30 to give enough break time
until the 10PM show. 8:30 is when we usually meet for the limo tour. I
think it will work.

Ladies:

There have been some items posted on the DLV Discussion Forum about a
possible show at the Mirage prior to the Limo Tour on Thursday. The
items also discuss the possibility that the Mirage could be a possible
assembly area for the Limo Tour. Unfortunately, this is a topic that
needs to be discussed within the DLV Org group.

At this time, I'm going to call for a "time out" on this topic on the
Discussion Forum, since this subject may affect the schedule, and needs
to be discussed as a topic within the DLV Org group.

Due to the popularity of this show, the availability of tickets may be
an issue. So, the organizers may have to act quickly, if this is to
become a scheduled activity.

If any of you would like to volunteer as the organizer of the show,
please respond to me at:

dlvorg@geekbabe.com

I'm sure this show would be accepted well and attract quite a few of our
attendees.

Aiko
