Although nobody taking the quiz scored a perfect 20, we're declaring
Densie the winner, scoring 19 out of 20.

Densie will receive a complimentary bottle of a very delicious "dessert
wine" (NO, not the G-word) for the Limo Tour at the upcoming DLV 2007.
Contratulations!
. . . . . . . . . .

1. The event we now know as Diva Las Vegas was first conceived by users
communicating over what medium?

More specifically, the old #crossdress channel on EFNET. This question
is very frequently missed, even by some who are occasional users of the
current incarnation of that channel.
. . .

2. The total input to the Las Vegas economy resulting from DLV 2006 has
been estimated as approximately:

d. over $200,000.00

Very close to a quarter of a million dollars. Extrapolated from survey
responses.
. . .

3. The annual Limousine Tour has been an ongoing affair ever since it
first appeared in 2001.

How many limousines were hired for the very first DLV Limousine Tour
back during DLV 2001?

a. One

One in 2001, five in 2002, up to eight in 2006.
. . .

4. The daily Lunch With Ginger is one of the most popular ongoing DLV
activities. What we now know as Lunch With Ginger was in actuality

Brunch With Tina in 2003 morphed into Lunch With Ginger in 2004, and now
occasionally Lunch With Lori. :)
. . .

5. What was the last year in which all DLV attendees were ever in one place at the same time?

This happened only once in the history of DLV, at a long-closed bar
named Choices in the six-points area on Charleston. It is not expected
to repeat again, ever.
. . .

6. Ever since 2003, DLV has co-sponsored a "Social" with another
organization, whose members are always in attendance at DLV. What is
that organization?

d. Southern Belle Society

Another DLV/SBS Social is planned for Saturday of DLV week this year.
. . .

7. The very first DLV get-together of all times happened in which venue?

a. Goodtimes Lounge

Saturday afternoon, May 10, 1997. DLV has visited Goodtimes each year
since.
. . .

8. Whose face was used for the sketch that became the current DLV logo?

c. Lisa W. (Jellomold)

Those on IRC knew her as Jellomold.
. . .

9. DLV had its first overseas attendee in what year?

b. Ursula, in 1998

Ursula also holds the record for "most years missed before returning",
finally getting the opportunity to return to this side of the pond in
2006, an eight year gap. (Sorry, Michelle.)
. . .

10. Who was DLV's first F to M attendee?

d. This has yet to be determined.

This has never happened yet, and we sure would like to see it happen. We
did have one register once, but did not show.

Dimethyl hydrazine is, literally, rocket fuel.
. . .

d. Milano's

Home of DLV's only Rubber Chicken Banquet. :)
. . .

14. What is the only hotel which has had DLV attendees for all years?

attendees until 1999.

d. 2004
. . .

20. Who first used the term "Diva Las Vegas" to refer to the event we
know and love?

d. John, in late winter 1997

"Diva Las Vegas" was just a side note on a web page. It stuck!

Sob sniff! I'm so happy! I never win anything! Should I make a speech?

I'll let you in on a little secret... oh, this is the disc group, isn't
it? Well, consider it an early piece of lore for 2007. I've had a
bottle of Galiano (sic) for two or three years now, and curiosity
finally got the best of me...so I tried it.

You're right. It's just downright putrid. In fact, it was so gawdawful
that I haven't had the urge to drink ANYTHING with alcohol in it lately.

Should I save the empty bottle?

>Should I make a speech?

Sure, we can book a big lecture hall at the Convention Center and you
can be DLV's first keynote speaker! :)

>oh, this is the disc group, isn't it?

Uh-huh, it sure is, at least it was the last time I checked.

>I've had a bottle of Galiano (sic) for two or three years now, and

LOL, now you know! Next thing you'll be buying a toothbrush in the
dicey area of town and sharing your Galiano [sic] with the winos! :)

>You're right. It's just downright putrid.

Ya know, I've always said that Galiano [sic] tastes kind of like a
mixture of vodka and Robitussin, but I've figured out a better example
of what it tastes like.

You remember those Circus Peanuts? If you don't, try:

http://www.bad-candy.com/candies/circuspeanuts/

Take Circus Peanuts, soak them in turpentine for about a week,
strain the results, and you'll have something that tastes kind
of like Galiano [sic].

(Kids, don't try this at home, adults, don't try this anywhere!)

>Should I save the empty bottle?

You mean you drank the whole thing???!!! Geez!

Seriously, a local road-house bar just west of here has a very nice
model of a lighthouse, made of, you guessed it, a Galiano [sic] bottle.

>Should I save the empty bottle?

We used to things with Galliano bottles which required carbonite drill
bits. But that was over 25 years ago.

Why can't we just use the meeting room? I can speak right before the
rubber chicken is served; that way, people won't mind if I cut it short.

Do you want me to save some for Lester, or have you found a new main
squeeze?

>>Should I save the empty bottle?

>You mean you drank the whole thing???!!! Geez!

In one swallow. I wanted to hurry up and get it down.
