Hi All, I'm wondering if there are any other hotels that would work for
DLV attendees; such as: Bally's, Paris, Flamingo, Aladdin, Caesar's, or
Bellagio ?

warm regards,

Shannon

We've had DLV attendees stay at all of them, no issues I am aware of.

General rule of thumb is that if you pay your bill, don't trash the
room, and be a lady or gentleman, whichever you prefer at the time,
your money is just as green as anybody else's.

If you haven't already done so, take a look at the Big List at:

http://www.geekbabe.com/dlv/vendors/

.. as it lists a number of hotels you mention and some that you don't.

I'm sure others will chime in with their faves as well.

The Aladdin is now in the third year of their slow transition to the
Planet Hollywood name, and yes, they are marketing heavily toward the
weekender hip-n-happenin' southern California twentyboppers, as are
the Rio, the Palms, the Hard Rock, and a few others.

One thing I assure you of, however, is that no casino security
department will put up with anybody who creates a menacing or
disorderly atmosphere, period.

I've been to the Aladdin several times over the past 3 years, and I've
never observed anything anywhere close to a visible gang presence in the
casino, the Theater For The Performing Arts, the buffet, or the shopping
mall.

Ditto for the Palms, Rio, and Hard Rock.

What I had heard last year (and I don't have confirmation of this so
take it with a grain of salt), is that the Aladdin was doing a lot of
television advertising in Southern California trying to attract Los
Angelinos for weekend trips. A by-product of this is that they also
attracted large groups of gang-bangers who also brought their turf
battles with them.

Yeah, just don't reach in your purse for your cell phone at the wrong
time. :)

So which one do you reccommend? Which is the hotel for the Diva event?
Do they actually allow you to do this?

Well, uh, I didn't say WHOSE purse I accidentally reached into when my
cell phone rang. :)

(Jeez whoever was on the other end was loud!) :)

We're suggesting the Imperial Palace, the Sahara, and the St. Tropez,
although you're free to stay elsewhere if you wish.

>Which is the hotel for the Diva event?

None of the above. :)

Seriously, we're not centered around any particular hotel. Our
activities occur all over town (and out of town too). :)
