DLV leadership, authority, and organization

Please be aware that this discussion was forcefully changed to
"Leadership....."

In the original thread called "Ages" and not repeated in this thread
like other comments of that thread, Annie has finalized it and writes
and I quote:

" > Don't tweak anything. Diva is fine the way it is.

This appears to be what most of those who have answered the
original questions are saying. Thanks. "

----

In this discussion here, its more dynamic, objective, and progressive,
looking objectively at issues, and responses have been made by others.

Two things minimally has been brought up

1. Non-official activity involving DLV attendees:

IF sex and sexuality is currently strictly not allowed in DLV, and that
aspect drives many at Wild Side. That rule has to be modified or
changed. However saying that, it does NOT mean to not have activities to
socialize in a way to lead to that, but leaving having consensual sex
outside of the activity, between willing partners. One option already
open is non-official activities that do exactly this result. Also late
night dancing already allows for this too. This is a good starting point
for newer activities for the younger CDers, and like all activities at
DLV, one attends what they want. So the older cders don't have to attend
it. Fine too and they can have their quiet evenings drinking. What about
having a dinner at a night club that goes straight into dancing all
night. How about a party bus instead of a limo tour? What about night
club crawl/tour of different night clubs per night.

2. Don't change anything. Leave it as it is

----

"Who Moved My Cheese" is a excellent book exploring the meaning of
change, and change management. Not changing is given as one
result, and not a good one, but a common response to any form of change,
and is very much reflected in some responses on this issue, so its not
what I or anyone has said, and has been published. Not saying
anything against any person's response. I want to make that clear.
Nothing wrong with any given response as a example of a reason
against change. Basically the book shows the person that didn't
like change wasn't considered a good result, and gave its reasons and
possible results. But the reasoning and focus is to change to
survive. One can see a video version on You Tube if you want to find out
what this book was saying.

I think Annie is doing a fine job in her leadership role... and she has
a competent group of organizers helping her. If you have a personal
gripe with her about this, then there are appropriate channels to air
your beef with her... I don't think we should be dragged into whatever
you have going with her. That's just my opinion.

Furthermore, I really don't give a rat's arse if our gals want to screw
or want to be screwed and have wild TG sex with other TG's, GG's, and
or male followers if that's what turns them on while they are at DLV but
I hope DIVA doesn't make such activity a part of the agenda for the
week's activities. I'm not a prude by any means. I just think there's a
time and a place for such activity. I don't think DIVA is that time or
place but certainly on your own it can be. Go do that on your own...you
have plenty of time to go off on your own and indulge in that type of
activity.

Just my two cents.

This discussion isn't attacking Annie, leadership, nor the group of
organizers. So therefore no need to go to 'appropriate channels to air
your beef with her'. Again to re-focus it was to discuss what was asked
about and I quote "Do we have a need or desire for more younger
attendees?""How =C2=A0can we tweak things to better serve younger
attendees?"

In the original subject, as stated earlier it was already closed=C2=A0
=C2=A0------ Sex has been brought up as one reason, then that is a
reason. =C2=A0Good or bad its a objective point. =C2=A0Sex with a male,
female or other - whatever - is not needed information. =C2=A0Just
wanting to have sex with what or whomever its a reason. Your opinion is
noted, also included with it was concerning DLV guidelines about sex
prohibition at DLV activities. This just means that Wild Side attendees
- some, or maybe all look forward to this. =C2=A0We don't know that
information. =C2=A0So far that is one thing mentioned.=C2=A0 As you
bring up, DLV attendees may already be doing this on their own time
anyway, there is no data/stats on what attendees do on their own time
during DLV or after the end of the planned evening. =C2=A0 Sex is
private and is no-one's business. =C2=A0Some DLV attendees may find
dates at night clubs, even call for some companionship escort, and
others procure the services of the chicken ranch. =C2=A0This has been
done, so nothing new. =C2=A0=C2=A0 BUT as a specific reason to draw a
person to a activity and reason for a younger person to attend to
facilitate finding a sex partner , its valuable information if things
are or NOT to be tweaked to "better serve younger attendees",
=C2=A0Which is the second question, and again, you have already said
your opinion of no change. Unlike your opinion of having sex, it is a
point that attracts younger (and maybe older or lonely) attendees or a
reason to attend, for its seen in their numbers at Wild Side is
increasing every year (and they have all different ages young and old),
while DLV is dropping and moving with one generation as it gets older.
Others have their own thinking, personality, mind-set, and everyone can
think different and have a different opinion, and with no dis-respect to
your opinion, differs greatly from your opinion and want this
apparently, for they are going to the Wild Side events. Where DLV goes
it up to those that attend. =C2=A0As someone else said, why organize
when no one shows up. =C2=A0Others are OK with DLV dying if no change
and numbers decrease. =C2=A0Change is never pleasant and can be a harsh
wake-up call. =C2=A0Some find it difficult and then realize the change
was good. =C2=A0Some adjust and tolerate and keep a open mind to change
like someone said is learning to accept how everyone dresses. =C2=A0If
it dies, its gone. Just my two cents.

Actually, I enjoyed "Who Moved My Soap", a, uh, "derivative work" :) much better. :) It's a much more entertaining read. :)

The book

'Who Moved My Soap A CEO's Guide to surviving prison" -- the one written
by Bernie Maddoff?

That guy got 150 yrs for a $65 million ponzi scheme...caught in 2008 or
2009 I vaguely remember it was in the news, and charged with quite a few
crimes. Something like many counts of fraud, money laundering, perjury,
and theft. 'very interesting' (as Arte Johnson would say) will see if
its still in print...

Annie has brought up several good points. DLV has had/is having
activities at around theedges of a sexual nature. Parlor sexual games
like passing the dildo or ex-large silicone boob with the scantily
dressed/robed girls at the chicken ranch (NSD) and the attendees in
their mirrored run-way 'selection room', would definitely fit within
this topic. Also activities at the Erotic Heritage Museum. Are two good
examples.

Annie also expresses concern of not more and not less.

One point that mades a repeat event desireable to re-attend was to
change the itinerary of what is done at that event so its never exactly
the same thing every year. To interest those that previously attended,
and build on what attendees wanted or expected at that activity, than
just a exact repeat. So re-imagine a past activity can also create new
interest too.

Jo-Ann modified a limo ride concept into a scavenger hunt. Those were
great adaptationsto repeat activities too.

LOL, no, Madoff did not write WMMS! :)

The book was, however, re-released as a "Special Bernie Madoff Edition" right after Bernie was sentenced. The original WMMS came out shortly after WMMC did.
