So? Where did you dine when not with the group?

Postby annie » Mon Jun 06, 2016 7:12 am

Inquiring minds want to know!

This question is mainly aimed at attendees of recent years, of all ages, who, occasionally or frequently, chose to dine at other than the various "venues du jour" on the DLV schedule.

Where did you dine? General or very specific.

Did you dine solo or with others?

Why did you choose to dine separately from the group at those times?

And, what is your approximate age?

I'll start off. I did several meals not with the group this past year and in recent years. All but one of these in recent years have been solo.

As for venues:

Coffee shop at Westgate, my hotel this year, multiple times. Why? It was there, I was there, I was hungry, and it's usually very good, although I admit a bit spendy for what you get.

Buffet at Westgate. Why? It was there, it was convenient, I was hungry, and usually it's very good.

Nathan's, upstairs food court at NYNY. Why? I was there and I'm addicted to Nathan's fries. :)

Very unhealthy quasi-dinner at the deli at TI. Why? Why not! YOLO! :) :)

I know I'll think of a couple more just after I hit SUBMIT. :)

One unintended meal solo, which I think I already mentioned, came about because I was one who was partly responsible for an overbooking at one of our EON venues, so I cancelled and did dinner on my own.

As to why I did not dine with the group, in almost all cases there was no DLV dining activity happening at that time or in the next few hours that was convenient to me.

As for age, I grudgingly accept the fact that I'm now over 60 although I'm still somewhat in denial. :(

Now, let's hear yours! :)

For Eating Out Night, I went to Nove Italiano for two reasons. The first was the venue I signed up for was overbooked so I helped my friend, the coordinator of the event, by going elsewhere. The second reason was that Delaney and I have been talking about going to that place since last year. She couldn't make it due to obligations so I took Hollie with me to try it out.

I don't like buffets for lunch/dinner and early coffee doesn't go well with dancing until 2AM. I eat two meals a day during DLV.

I'm 38

This posting is from: Lisa Brown

Well, the first nite the group took off from the meeting place in the
bar and left a couple of us standing around ...so we went upstairs to
the roof deck of the Flamingo which was a quintessential Vegas
experience. Just loved it.. really felt the city. It was just my second
time out straight public as Lisa...

The very last nite two of us went to the Irish pub across the road from
Flamingo, engaged with a bunch of straight kids playing drunkard games,
and also had a lot of fun...
