Grocery Stores

Postby Ami » Tue Jan 06, 2015 11:17 am

Just a little 411 from a local...
If you get a room (or not) and want to get good, quality groceries at cheap prices, go to Smith's grocery stores. You can find their locations online. The best part, they have unisex bathrooms. :) They are very trans-friendly. I've seen a few of 'us' working there. No, I don't work there...just want to give a shout-out for them.

Hi Amy. Thanks for the advise. I know I will use it.
When I get to Las Vegas I get my rental car and head for someplace to pick up a case of bottled water, some snacks and drinks to have in my room for the week. In the past that has meant stopping at the first convenience store I see and paying pretty high prices for those items. I will be sure to check the locations of your stores before I arrive and find the closest one to the airport.
Great advice. Thanks again.

ObTrivia: The brownies that I picked up for the very first DLV back in 1997 came from Smiths, the one at Maryland and Sahara.

How I recalled that I'll never know, just popped into my head when I read this. When I do need stuff in LV I'll usually go to Smith's, since the loyalty card I have is shared among the various Kroger/Dillon/Bakers/Smiths shops.

It's been my experience that most supermarkets are TG friendly, except maybe for Winn-Dixie a few years back.

Thanks Ami, Now I know where to shop for groceries to stock in our
trailer when in Las Vegas. Trying to avoid Wal-Mart at all costs.

Grocery Stores

It has been nearly seven years since I last lived in Las Vegas, but as a
former resident of I Remember how they were located every couple miles
at major intersections and I remember running from store to store
cleaning them out of my favorite soda when it was on sale....

I stopped drinking carbonated beverages in 2005.

Cheers,

Eileen

Annie, I know of the "Winn-Dixie" story... For those of you just tuning in, a few years ago, one of their freight truck drivers was fired because they found out he was a CD...not even during work. He sued, won, and last I heard is living happily ever after.

Before I return to my hotel for the evening, I usually stop by a grocery store to pick up breakfast goodies, like bananas, juice & etc. I have stopped by Food4less, 1941 N Decatur Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89108 Store Phone: (702) 648-4991. The Gal at the checkout was so friendly and helpful. She went across the store to get me a spoon & knife for my goodies.
Just one word of caution, those floors are slippery! Of course, I was in my dress-up evening wear & heels. I just LOVE the sound of my heels on that floor. ;-)
