Kari, sorry about your loss.

Miss Kari, I am Tony A.K.A Rastas or "the token straight guy" who has
attended about half of the DLVs. I am a friend of Annie, Gina and
Ginger. Gina, Denise (Densi) and I were the pilots that did the Air
Tours back then. Denise also tried to organize the Karaoke and dinner
at Amoni Gabe in the Paris hotel. Who can forget the "rubber chicken"
for Annie at the welcome dinner? That was Denise and I who put that
together.

I met Denise about 2 years after my first wife passed away. As soon as
we met we were inseparable. We got married about 4 months later and
were "joined at the hip" for 12 and a half years. We never argued about
anything, we were made for each other. We were best friends as well as
in love with each other.

Well as most of you already know Denise was flying our plane the day
after Thanksgiving 2012, about 18 months ago and the plane went down in
the Goldwater bombing range. There were no survivors. This was the
second time the love of my life had been ripped from me without even the
chance to say goodbye. Needless to say I was pretty screwed up in the
head for quite some time. I was seriously considering taking myself out
so I could join Denise and Jackie (my first wife and mother of my
children)

Don't go there, I know it's pretty bad right now but in time the pain
will go away. Just rejoice in the memories of the great times you had
together. Nothing can take those away from you.

As for me I still follow the DLV disc board and may drop in at the DLV
events if I'm in the area at the proper time. I have since met a GG who
has mended my heart. Though she'll never replace either of my first two
ladies she has filled the void in my life.

Kari, I hope that in time you may be as fortunate and find someone who
can do the same for you. In the meantime remember that we DLVers are
all here with and for you.

Love, Tony

Tony,

You don't need to "be in the area" to attend. :) I know I speak for the entire DLV contingent when I say that we would love to have you with us!

Bring your partner along if you like. We would welcome her with open arms as we did you back in 2001. If she would like to have a great time with a fun-loving (but admittedly a bit unusual) group of super people, she would enjoy us. :)

Please stay in touch and don't be a stranger. :)

Tony.

Thank you for the email and the thoughtful words. I remember you and
Denise well, I believe at the 2012 DLV event Angie and I sat next to you
two at a karaoke event at Wild Bills Gambling Hall. I remember you both
well, you two always looked as a happy couple.

Our stories and loss are similar, Angie was a pilot also in a 63 Piper
for years until she couldn't get her licensed renewed because a stint in
her heart. She encouraged me to take lessons also and cheered from the
ground with our son watching me take off and land. We too shared 12
years of our lives and our hearts.

It is a tremendous loss to suffer but know I will survive. I also know
Angie would want to be happy and not sit around crying. That has been
hard for me to do.

We have a event in Washington called Esprit, I don't go there often but
did this weekend. Angie had property on the Hoods Canal up by Port
Angeles and I spread some of her ashes there this weekend on the trip
up. This trip also afforded me the opportunity to celebrate and mourn
her life and death with many that knew her in the community up here in
Washington. This did help me heal but its still a dark, lonely time for
me.

Saturday night I went into my room at the event and read your email. It
touched my heart reading it and I so much understand your love and loss
you have experienced with this now.

Thank you very much for sharing it, you have helped me with my closure!

Love,

~~Keri
