DLV 2014 Attendee Survey results, part 2 ...

Postby External Poster » Thu May 01, 2014 1:10 pm

This posting is from: Diva Las Vegas
----------

This is the second of two reports on the DLV 2014 Attendee Survey.

These are the comments and suggestions received on the survey.

Further comments are welcome.
. . . . . . . . . .

Restroom comments:

I use the Ladies room all the time, and never have had a problem
. . . . .

on the golf course, they had public restrooms and while there was nobody
around, I took the opportunity to use the ladies room
. . . . .

Very impressive organization of the event. Wonderful. (Received under
restroom comments.)
. . . . . . . . . . .

Activity suggestions:

I don't like hidden away venues. The Hustler club was fine, but I felt
like we were tucked away. I don't need to come to Vegas to be tucked
away. Same for private rooms.
. . . . .

Drop the Hustler club next year, It was awful.

Definitely keep the Audrey Tour. It was spectacular. I would however
suggest that we find another venue for after drinks and give he Wax
museum a pass next time. It was fine but not something to do every year.

Had a really great time, My best DLV to date. Love you all.
. . . . .

Yes, the big wheel.
. . . . .

The food at Carmines was not very good. Everything was too salty.
. . . . .

stay away from carmines and ricardos
. . . . .

Include address and phone number for activity locations
. . . . .

No comedian next year please. Lame. Passing the hat twice made us look
desperate. Food at Carmine's was okay but a poor value IMO. Room cramped
and too noisy to visit.

Bahama Breeze a winner as always.

Many events stale. Need new activities.
. . . . .

I would like an additional open show option. Maybe Celine Dion or a
similar show depending on who is performing.
. . . . .

Have the opening celebration on the opening day.
. . . . .

Simplify all the computer stuff
. . . . .

It was nice to have a lot of options, but I found that I didn't meet
that many people based on too many choices. I would put the Fantasy ball
early in the event since so many gurls showed up for that. That way you
might find someone compatible to hang out with during the rest of the
week.

It was a great time and I would highly recommend it to anyone.
. . . . .

Offer more than one orientation opportunity for first time attenders
or assign them a big sister. I was too nervous to request one but
which [sic] (wish) I had.
. . . . .

Bring back the boat ride
Bring back the limo ride
. . . . .

I just could not find the religious place and did not find lots of the
activities
. . . . .

Fashion Bootcamp (how-to look realistic)
LV Strip Excursion (Bellagio fountains
Paris Eiffel Tower, animals, etc)
Ponytails, Tshirts and jeans How-to seminar
Fashion show
Boutique shopping
Mani-pedis
Evening gown/wedding try-on and photo shoot
Tai chi in a park
Movie
Paradise Bakery
Horse riding
. . . . .

best drinks and prices were at PF changs
. . . . .

Don't do an event on the strip on Friday night for the farewell dinner.
Was a pain getting to there.
. . . . .

If possible, we need to double track the events that have a "sexual"
theme, such as the Hustler club and trip to the brothel. The hike was
wonderful and will do it again, even off the schedule weather
permitting.
. . . . .

To get the date, address, info, and map location of each event? I had to
consult 3 pages I printed off at home. TOO MUCH WORK! Can't everything
be on ONE sheet? Maybe, plus the map?
. . . . .

Not sure if anyone has checked into it, but the Redrock hike gave me
the idea of possibly visiting the Springs Preserve next year
. . . . .

DLV Bowling Night
. . . . .

And thank you for not wearing the mask at the major events.
. . . . .

More downtown
. . . . .

Burger Brassiere and Toby Keith. High Roller Ferris Wheel.
. . . . . . . . . .

New venue suggestions:

Morton's With some dear friends
. . . . .

McCormick and scmick
Morton's
Claim jumper
. . . . .

Burger brasserie in Paris--yummy!
. . . . .

The Australian Bee Gees- Music show in Excalibur Buffet and show around
$60.00
. . . . .

Elton John was great!
. . . . .

shopping
. . . . .

Criss Angel Show at Luxor....

Nocturne at Cosmo...

maybe do a night of shows
. . . . .

Defending the Caveman- Flamingo
. . . . .

Badlands and Spotlight are both alternative bars close to each other
that were a lot of fun with a fun crowd.

Harrah's outdoor music carnival would have been a fun place for the
group to go.
. . . . .

Elton John (may be too expensive for most unless there are group
discounts.. seats are available midweek) X Burlesque
. . . . .

Charlie's had drag bingo night and lots of room to dance.
. . . . .

Mob Museum
. . . . .

enjoyed going back to the blue ox
. . . . .

Carrabbas
Gordon Ramsey Burger
. . . . .

The new Mexican restaurant at the Quad. I don't remember the name. It
has outdoor seating on the Linq and they were very nice and
accommodating. They also have a mechanical bull. Might be nice to see
some of our cowgirls riding. (Hope they don't lose their wigs.)
. . . . .

Maragrutaville for dinner. Great place to go
. . . . .

A couple friends and I went to see Elton John at Caesar's Palace on
Sunday evening. Not that he is likely to be there during our next DLV
but a nice show is good for the schedule.
. . . . . . . . . .

General comments:

Some of the meeting locations were difficult to find in places I hadn't
been too before. Would have been nerve racking and difficult for new
comers

Impressed with golden nugget and grotto. Good place for meals for larger
groups

Carmine's was ok (food was real good) but needed a la carte tables to
have an organiser to ensure there was a variety.

Don't think the comedian worked.
. . . . .

I would encourage name tags for large private events like the welcome
and farewell dinners, but not for smaller more public events.
. . . . .

Food at Carmins was great but entertainment sucked. Ginger and Annie
plugging their pink festival was more entertaining than the stand up
guy. Next time pass the hat after the show or else pass it back for a
refund.
. . . . .

Victoria's transgender discussion was not on a suitable time. Although I
would love to participate but at 11 PM I was not in the mood anymore.
(been there, done that last year in EHM)
. . . . .

Liked the Farewell Dinner at BB better.
. . . . .

Some of the girls exchange email and/or phone #. Unfotunately when
referring to DLV profiles we could not find the individual.
. . . . .

I was not feeling well, so I did not get to attend all the events that I
would have liked to.

That is the only reason I did not attend very many activities.
. . . . .

carmines was worse meal the whole time. poor value for the cost involved
for it
. . . . .

I know everyone is in a different place in their personal expression as
a woman and I want to be respectful of each individual's own ideas about
dressing/appearance, but I wish there was some way to meet/see each
other online in advance under some kind of "prescreen" rubric so that
based upon one's posted photos and statements about what she's looking
for being out in public in Vegas, gals could set up smaller groups of
just 3 or 4 gals who are 90% or more on the same page with regard to
dressing/outfits that blend into the everyday/average look, and then
gals who pass well and simply want to be girlfriends out shopping,
having lunch, catching a movie, relaxing in the hotel lounge could then
enjoy that - and those who want to party-down, dress
slutty/non-passable, and don't mind being more outlandish/drawing
attention could enjoy that.

It's always hardest for me when I'm in very average office-worker attire
and can blend in public as very passable, but the DLV gals I meet are in
micro-mini skirts, colored hose, tall heels, and their wigs + make-up
don't look natural at all.
. . . . .

Last year Pf Changs split bills for dinner even on tables with ten
people. They would not do it this year which made several people
uncomfortable.

We decided to eat at the bar which alleviated that problem.

This year because the size was smaller and the host for our room said we
could not sit in booths as we had in the past, after we had already
placed our drinks and jackets. She said the group was small and we would
be sitting in the middle of the room with non DLV patrons sitting in the
booths around us.
. . . . .

Felt like DLV was being used as a means of hawking sales... jewelry.
body shapers. wigs, etc. Are we morphing into a sales opportunity rather
than a vacation?

I'm beginning to wonder if some of the organizers are getting some kind
of kick back from vendors/service providers.
. . . . .

I really enjoyed myself! Thought the events could be closer to the strip
hotels, but then again maybe that's not possible . i.e. where are you
going to find a pole dance studio closer? Great job!

Sometimes I got tired, but the structure made me get out, and I usually
woke up once I got there. Thank you!! and I met some great people!
. . . . .

I did not attend activities I signed up for due to parking issues at the
Quad. I will not stay there again.
. . . . .

The most important thing is the new friendships and renewal of the prior
ones. I love DLV and so does my wife. I was thinking of not coming this
year and she said in no uncertain terms "YOU ARE GOING!"

I didn't know the NAB and the ACM dovetailed us. I will hang out later
next year and attend those conferences, as I have been involved in
country radio and country for many years.

I just want to thank Annie and Delaney and all the volunteers for a
fantastic event, I know its a lot of work and it is appreciated.
. . . . .

My only issue with DLV this year was the choice of restaurant for the
farewell dinner and the lack of communication and/or explanation of the
establishments menu choices, or lack there of. I'm sure the food was
fine, but I wouldn't know as I left when I was not given a choice of
salad as shown on the menus sent out. Nor was I given a choice of entree
nor any other choices listed in the menus. Here's the food we're
serving, eat it or don't but we're still charging you $50!!! I haven't
been forced to eat what's on my plate since grade school and I'm not
about to pay $50 for something I didn't order. If I had been told what
was being served prior then I would not have been so upset.

Also, I didn't care for being place in the back room and hidden away
from the general public, like they didn't want 'them' to see 'us'.

When I asked about the bathroom I was directed to a little one upstairs
hidden behind a partition, instead of the main bathroom right down the
hall. And when I passed said partition in search of the bathroom two
employees quickly ran up to me and ushered me behind the screen, in
hopes, I feel, that I would not be seen by other customers. I will never
return to this establishment, nor would I ever mention it to others.

Lastly, the golf tournament. I've only been golfing a year so I have
absolutely no chance of ever winning :) But seriously, the same person
wins every year for 5 years in a row? Is she Tiger Woods in a skirt? If
I were better and competitive and didn't just do it for fun then I
probably wouldn't bother. There has to be a way to even it out so others
have a chance to win once in a while. Me? I'll always be satisfied
knowing in my very first tourney I got high score. :D
. . . . .

It was a lot of money for me and I can meet others here in my state. I
set my expectation level too high. For me nothing happens in Vegas that
will stay in Vegas. Lol
. . . . .

This was a fun event and if I hadn't needed to be in Calfornia for
meetings then I would've definitely stayed longer.

My only issue was the restroom one. The guidelines on the website were
helpful as was the discussion at the new attendee event. That being
said, I think it would be very useful to have a clear opinion from the
site hosting our group on what their policies are. Before the new
attendee event I felt comfortable with using the ladies room at any of
th venues that an event was being held and did so at the Spotlight
Lounge.

After the talk at Bahama Breeze I was very conflcted and opted to not
use the restroom at all (despite really needing to). It wasn't a huge
issue as I had to leave around 7:30 to go to a non DLV event. So in
short, a clear opinion from the venue owners/managers would be nice as I
can really understand both sides of the issue.

Again, great event and I really hope to make it to another one.
. . . . .

I didn't know until the end of the event that there was an absolutely
awesome killer schedule and map online. You should announce and post
them and don't keep them to a select few.
. . . . .

The comedian was not funny at all and out of line a few times
. . . . .

Thank you!!
. . . . .

Best Diva event ever. Thanks so much
. . . . .

I would like for the location addresses to be included in the final
itinerary
. . . . .

we had a great 7 day package deal at the M but was a 14 mile drive each
way, 15-20 min to any dlv programs/ smoking was alowedin cacino but you
could not smell it. exellent ventilation sys.

we also could have stayed at the LVH or Palace Station and a couple
others for about $20 less on our package. pays to plan ahead we started
lookin in Jan. booked about 4 paces made a pick last few day befoe DLV
and the cancelled the rest
. . . . .

Regarding: "Did you have any difficulty finding the group at any of our
venues?" The only problem I had was for the "PF Chang Happy Half-hour"
which said to meet in the "Main bar area" when it should have said
"Upstairs Bar". Dinner said "Upstairs area" which was fine. Not a big
deal; someone from our group came down, found me waiting in the main bar
area and directed me to upstairs.
. . . . .

Hustler club was a bit much. I think it would have helped to have more
detail about what it was going to be about. Some of the costumes where a
bit much for my taste.
. . . . .

I hate to hit Carmine's, but the Happy Hour didn't have happy hour
pricing on the drinks.

I was impressed with the level of talent within our group as seen at the
Hustler club. I wouldn't be surprised to see other talents emerge if we
find the right venue for them. Maybe something set at the EHM next year.
But nothing that requires the attention of the whole group, we are too
diverse to expect everyone to pay attention.

The time with Dr. Victoria was time well spent, but a good example of
how something was valueable for some but wasn't for everyone.
. . . . .

As always, had a great time. Very sad when it ended. Hope for a get
together in Vegas in the fall. Might try Pinkfest.
. . . . .

Thank u, Annie! And, everyone who made this possible. U provide a life
experience we shall remember our entire lives! Despite our current thots
about it, we will ALL look back on this wonderful time in out T lives!
It was simply amazing! Thank u! Than u! Thank u!
. . . . .

I would love to be able to do some of the lunch time events. But, I
don't understand why they are always held at some buffet? Buffets are
very expensive in Las Vegas and they are also very unhealthy for you.
People tend to over eat. I don't need that much food and as such I
always avoid buffets every where I go.
. . . . .

I would like to thank all of the volunteers who gave their own time to
organize a great event!

as for next year we should leave out the comedian
. . . . .

So, I'm sitting at Bahama Monday and these two gurls across from me are
bitching and bent out of shape about not knowing what's going on and
where to find anything. So I show them my schedule and they ask where I
got it, I said in e-mail and they said they think they never got it but
aren;t sure and very ho-hum about it. I say I can run over and make them
a copy since the Fed Ex copy place is right next door and they just
shrug their shoulders and don't really seem to give a crap about it.
. . . . .

DLV was a fantastic experience. My only regret was I did not attend some
events because they were a ways from the hotels (transportation). Being
my first year did not know people. My bad if I go next year I will plan
better for transportation taxi what ever it takes. The quad hotel was
friendly and great, the rooms were bad carpet yuck, I think they are
remodeling.
. . . . .

I had a wonderful time and I thought the whole week was organized very
well......an enjoyable group of ladies also

Thanks to all the volunteers
. . . . .

Kudos and thanks to who ever set up the entertainment. At the fantasy
ball I was expecting thump- thump loud house music but it was just the
right volume and you could still talk. Same with the guitar man at
Bahamas. Just the right volume again.
. . . . .

instead of a final email blast can this all be added to the registration
screen page? easier if you had one page with all
. . . . .

Great selection of food choices. Must of gained 20lbs
. . . . .

Thanks again for a great time.
. . . . .

Seems like 2 kinds of girls who go to this thing. Those who try to look
normal and those who don't try to or don't care to. Those who look
normal can use the ladies bathroom with no trouble but those who do not
always attracts too much attention
. . . . .

Sticker shock when the price of 1 whiskey and cranberry was $14.00 at
the Paris party.
. . . . .

A few of the gurls I talked to spoke like they were trying to distance
themselves from an official connection with the program. One told me she
was just there that night to see who else was there and what was going
on. It was like they wanted to be doing their own thing and not part of
the group.
. . . . .

It seems like there are 2 kinds who come to this thing, those who dress
like normal women and those who wan to glam up and dress fantasy. Not
really sure which one that Diva is intended for.
