Dear Folks,

Sorry that this is so late in coming but work got in the way. First
let me say that all of you put on a wonderful week for all of us. This
was my first time and I hope not the last.

I realize that not all went as well as had been hoped for, that is the
nature of the beast. So please let me say my bit to help for next
year.

First, it would have been better for those of us first timers to have
the welcome come before the first days events so that we could get our
feet on the ground.

Second, the Sunday events were fine and welcome. The Bare Minerals
make overs were wonderful and it was a disappointment to see the clerks
standing around waiting for people to come that had signed up.

Third, There were a number of events that I showed up for that no one
came. The happy hour and dinner at the HB was one of them. The
material said that happy hour started at 5 with dinner to follow. I
got there at 5 and left at 5:45. No one came. Also the event at the
Blue Ox was the same way.

Fourth, the best parts were the welcome and good bye parties. these
were great and a wonderful place to mingle and get to know other girls.
The Bahamas Breeze was for an opening could not have been better.
The staff was fantastic. The good bye party was good up until the
ending when the so called funny person fell flat. He was so bad that
I almost felt sorry for him but did not.

Next year I plan to attend and try to do more of the activities. I
want to thank all who worked on this years vacation from the bottom of
my hart for the grand time. I was happy to attend and to be able to
be what I have always wanted to be. I am thinking that I want to help
you all next year but feel that I live to far away to be of much use.

Well there it is my two cents. Thanks for the dreams. They do come
true !!

Best,

Falyn

I can't speak for HB as I wasn't there. However, when I arrived at the Blue Ox around 5:25, there were already 4 or 5 of us there, and I was greeted enthusiastically by the help. (I think we all were.) Dinner was served shortly after 6 by which time there were 15 of us and most of us were there until about 8:15.

Sorry about the misinformation for the HofBrauHaus. I could have sworn
it said 6:00 pm and 7:00 pm. If that is what you meant by HB.

As in the past DLV's as far as I can remember Happy Hour has always been
scheduled for 6:00 p.m and dinner following at 7:00 p.m. This time there
was a table available to us at 6:30 or there a bouts, and we decided to
take it since we were all hungry and ready to eat. Sorry we missed you.

If anyone ever arrives at an activity location at or shortly after the posted start time and finds absolutely no evidence of the DLV group being there, the thing to do is to phone the Coordinator of that activity, if his/her number is listed on the final schedule, or any of the main DLV contact people if the named Coordinator's phone is not listed. This was outlined in the Large Final Mailing.

Were you at the correct Blue Ox? There are three of them in the Las Vegas area. The one we were using is the one on west Sahara and the address was listed on the final schedule.

Assuming you mean Hofbrau, will you please let us know exactly what material gave 5:00pm as the start time? This was in error and we need to follow up on that and see what happened. I just reviewed all three versions of the final schedule and all correctly listed Hofbrau as 6:00pm for HH and 7:00pm for dinner.

Thank you Annie. I thought maybe I had missed something on the FLM.

Hi Falyn,
Sorry you had a problem with a couple of the dinners. I print out a copy of the schedule of events that I am interested in attending. That way I have the address and times to check before I get there. I don't rely on my memory for a week's worth of activities.
["I am thinking that I want to help you all next year but feel that I live to far away to be of much use."]
As for your above statement. I helped coordinate 8 activities this year and I live in Iowa. So you don't have to live close to take on an activity. All you need is a desire to help out and a willingness to put in the effort. Give it a try next year. I think you will enjoy DLV all that much more.
