Another 2 cents (if Cami got to keep all these pennys, she would be rich)

Personally, I love the atmosphere at Ceasar's Forum shops - browsing glamorous clothes and shoes that I probably can never afford, or just people watching. The fixed-price menu was ok - at least there was plenty of it. I think the deserts were probably the best part, and I was too full to eat that much of it.

I think the comic should be glad we didn't have whole tomatoes to throw :). I think he was trying a little too hard to tailor his jokes to a transgender community that he didn't quite get. Either he didn't know what his punchlines were going to be, or that "hey that's a guy in a dress!" isn't really a joke - and one that we have heard many times before. His best go-gurt joke was fed to him by our own resident comic.

Still I have a lot of respect for any performer who is willing to stand up and try to entertain a group of strangers. I know many aspiring musicians/performers/comedians in LA who would be glad to get any money at all. Given how reserved some of our attendees can be, we are probably are fairly tough audience. Thanks to Cami for putting together an interesting evening, I had lots of fun.

Farewell Dinner

Exposure at the mall an issue? Gee I hope not. I could not ever imagine
a more live and let live place the Las Vegas. My wife I got lost from
one of our groups one night, and decided to have dinner at Wolfgang
Pucks in the mall. We were well received not only by staff (I am sure
every staff everywhere in Vegas is taught to treat all CU$TOMER$ well..
whatever their personal views may be) but by other diners, with whom we
chatted, by customers in other stores, and most of all by all the people
who tried to help me when I could not find my car at the Fashion Show
Mall. Every other shopper who attempted to help appeared friendly and
helpful and the fact that I was a crossdressed male seemed to phase
NO-ONE I encountered. We went to the Elton John Concert at Ceasars, and
to some other shows at Bally's again not one single problem with anyone.
We chatted people up at the Elton conference. People from everywhere. No
one was disrespectful at all.

Like I say, I expect good treatment from those receiving my greenbacks.
But I did not know what to expect expect from the guys attending the NAB
conference, or the Security Industry Conference, or the country western
fans coming in for the ACM or people in the CVS or the Supermarket.
Everyone was either nice and respectful, or simply oblivious.

As a New Yorker who is overly picky about food, my impression of
Carmines FOOD was that it was typical for Las Vegas, not gourmet, but
certainly not bad. I think if you eat Italian Food in NYC or San
Francisco, Philly or Chicago, you are going to be hard to please. But
for that matter I never thought PF Chang's was any good either, but had
fun there anyway. The PF Changs, the Bahama Breeze in Vegas are chain
restaurants and the ones in my home town are identical. Ruth Chris is a
chain too, but that place is really top flight (and priced accordingly).

The Prices at Carmines... people forgot that each dish was described as
being able to feed 2 to 4 people, so by that standard, the Carmines meal
was one of the lowest priced meals I had in Vegas. We were at an
al-la-carte table. Our server was terrific by the way. When all was said
and done for 8 people our bill came to about 295.00. We decided to round
it out to $40 each and gave the server $320. So she got a little extra tip.

I can't eat lunch in New York for $40. Also if you had a meal and an
appetizer at Bahama Breeze you would have spent at least $40. So I don't
see how Carmines was overpriced.

Do it again? I like the idea of trying different places each year, and I
think we should continue in the vein going forward. If you do the same
thing each year it gets to the point where the events aren't all that
memorable.

By the way..isn't that guitar player in Bahama Breeze just great.

Sincerely

Vickie Stone

That's a great idea. Let him earn the money.

My wife walked around at the mall one afternoon with no problems like
you said money talks. Being my first time out in public, I was a bit
apprehensive. But we had no problems what so ever, we chatted with
people everywhere we went.mostly INew the daytime, we walked so much I
was to tired by the evening activities. And yes, the guitar player at
bahama breeze was great. Can't wait till next year.
