Mary Beth,

In 2002 it was hot hot hot!, so in 2003, I packed shorts, sleeveless
tanks and short sleeve blouses. It was cold, cold, cold! I had to by a
big shirt for a coverup and I wore it so often I was embarassed! Better
just bring both kinds! giggle!

How hot does Vegas get in early May?

For early May, DLV days, usually highs in the 80's, lows in the 60's but
there's considerable variance. I've seen it over 100 in May a few times.

It was? The only thing I remember about the weather in 2002 was one
evening when it was borderline cool. The only time I remember it
being hot-hot was 1997. One of our people was doing a video of us
outside the Liberace Museum and I thought I was gonna evaporate.

It was actually chilly on the trip up to Area 51. Windy too! Fortunately
I had packed a half-zip fuzzy pullover which came in quite handy.

A big shirt can be quite fashionable, actually. :)

That's typical of the desert. Thirty degrees of temperature difference
between night and day is the norm. Right now in Tucson, it's been in
the upper 30's at night and upper 70's during the middle of the day.

The difference in temperature, as compared to other climates, occurs
because there is almost no humidity in the air to hold the heat.

And that brings me to another thing that I will remind everyone about.
Drink lots of water, especially if you're drinking booze. Last year I
ended up in the ER with deydration, and it's a painful experience.

Wind has been the constant at every DLV for the past 5 years (and nearly
every other time I've been there in any season). If you stay the
entire week, usually 2 weather patterns from the West will blow through
with very high winds and dust on those peak days. You might want to
think about keeping a scarf in your purse or car during that week.

I can't recall it raining during the DLVs I've attended, but I finally
got caught in one of those monsoons late last July while there on
business. It really was quite strong. And it does blow through fast,
coming with very little warning.

Ditto!!

Last limo ride, definitly was a windy bad hair night - and the wind was
accelerated between the casinos and right upon those for the photo ops
outside of the casinos both on the strip and at the 4 Queens... hair in
the face etc ... so much so I opted eventually to stay in the limo
