{broken record/stuck CD mode} If this is to happen as an official DLV
activity (or even an unofficial optional one) somebody is going to have
to "adopt" it and coordinate it ... meaning do the legwork necessary to
make it happen. I would suggest that if anybody wishes to volunteer to
to this, say so and present it to the ORG group so it can be added to
the schedule.

I tend to agree that if this happens, it shouldn't be mixed in with the
show/limo evening, but my reasoning is that Thursday (or whatever
evening the show/limo thing ends up on) will be full enough with those
two things that the wedding reception would be cut short and/or would
be low on turnout.

The DLV schedule is very much in pencil as of this time, and there are
other evenings that have more open time. As of this time, Tuesday and
Saturday are wide open and Sunday and Wednesday are not full yet.

Volunteers?

As a reminder sisters, Saturday is NOT wide open...Sat. afternoon is the
SBS Garden Party (which we all agreed was sacred for DLV) and we have a
full eveings schedulue Sat evening, if IRRC. Wednnesday, BTW, if the
HRC function and as a co-organizer with Kate on this, I will be very
dissapointed if this wedding thing goes on either of these nights.
IIRC, there are some open evenings/afternoons during DIVA.

IMHO, while this is a wonderful idea, I don't see adjusting the Diva
'tenative' schdule for 2004 in favor of 2 or 3 or 4 sisters/SO's outside
of the brnefit of others. I think the wedding vows and even a possible
bridal shower the evening prior to is a wonderful idea; howver, I'm
thinking for the entire good of our attendees.

Hmmm.....think we're reaching a point where we better vote (for next
year) on how many activities we will have on every morning, afternoon,
and evening throughout Diva. First come first served after that.

Monique, I know you are a member of SBS as am I but many at Diva will
not be. I think last year it got around 30? Don't remember exactly but
that leaves alot of girls unaccounted for. I don't think we should get
into who would have a better time at what and not doubletrack. I
believe we should just offer it and let the masses decide what they want
to do......this afterall is the spirit of Diva.

Chances are I will be working anyway and miss both so I am not jaded in
my opinion.....just want to see more choices if possible for the girls.

Things like the Friday mixer, shows, and I'll include the Limo Tour
because it starts so late, are staples of Diva and should not be
doubletracked IMO.

HRC night.

As a co-sponsor of a night I had set my heart on, I agree the HRC night
should stand and not be put on the back burner for an obviously main
event type of activity. The wedding party would be a nice touch to the
weeks vacation fun but not in competition to HRC. As I remember from
the comments in and around the time the HRC idea hatched it was quite
popular and was expected to draw quite a few of us and now secretaries
night is in conjunction with it I think we already have 2 in 1 so
another side shift event would likely be a detriment to the success of
dining out in a place which sounds terrific and has already accepted us
with open arms.

Before I get off the subject, this was intended to be an evening for the
more accomplished girls to dine with the group in a little style and for
the new and enthusiastic to try a little mainstreaming and as I am part
of the "hrc org" I would like to set the tone with a few suggestions for
dress code. The idea was to have business suits or summer office wear
for the occasion but only as a guideline so just wear whatever a night
out pleases you within reason!

Success is measured by numbers and not content so let"s do it.

Umm...I don't recall agreeing that this was sacred. I haven't been to
it so I wouldn't know. However, if something is sponsored and on the
schedule already, I wouldn't support any effort to remove it or
two-track it without the consent of the sponsor.

I don't have the scedule in front of me here, but I think I'm missing
something. Who are the 2-4 sisters/SO's and what do they want to do?
The wedding?

thanks

HRC night.

If we are going to have two show nites then we already have enough
evenings where the shy are not going to get out with the group.

Personally, I think we should doubletrack everything with a T-friendly
environment. At least it's a known, safe place for the more timid.

Kate, let me ask you? What are the girls who are too shy for HRC
supposed to do that night? Sit in the room?

I think it's only fair to everyone who travelled to Diva to have
something to their comfort level to do each day. Even if's it's only
meeting at Goodtimes each nite.....at least they will know there may be
someone else there.

Let's consider the whole as more and more first timers seem to be
attending each year.

Hard Rock Cafe night.

Leah.

I was new myself 2 years so I see your point but that is not what I
said. The "wedding Party" was too big a draw to run the same night as
The Hard Rock supper night. A low key event alongside HRC would be fine
for those who would like to do that on Wednesday night but we shouldn't
spend all week in GLBT bars either, I can do that anywhere and it's not
something I want to do when I am on vacation.

If you would like to sponsor a GLBT night to run in conjunction with HRC
that's ok with me.

IIRC, I think this is something our foundress said in an earlier DLVOrg
mailing and I was simply restating this. If I'm incorrect, please
forgive me.
