Contrary to what was stated back somewhere in this thread, it's
not a "majority rules" decision.

The dates are decided by the active volunteers, clarified this year
to mean those who coordinated at least one nontrivial DLV activity
over the last two DLVs.

This year the timeframe was uncontested. There was a second set of
dates nominated, but it died for lack of a second, so the proposed
dates were decided by acclamation.

We do value everybody's input, and that's happening now. The floor
is open for comments for and against the proposed timeframe, to
include such things as weather concerns, other events, room prices,
religious holidays, family holidays, bad hair days, etc. :)
