Gina,

I think that people are just waking up to this. How does that
scheduling affect your plans to attend DLV 2004?

Hugs,

DLV 2004 Ends on Mother's Day

Hi Tina et all,

Thats a good question, Mother's Day is a big deal for me especially
since my real mom died in the seventies when I was 18. I always felt a
great affinity to my mother and was extremely sad that I hadn't made as
big of a deal about Mother's Day than I did. That said, I've been
trying to get my kids to do a better job than I did, so it is pretty
much a weekend deal.

The other side of the coin is that I've also developed a very strong
need to attend DLV and see all of my Sisters at least once a year. The
bonds that we have formed have become a huge part of my life,
especially given that my CD'ing activities at home have been curtailed
a lot, in order to keep my wife (and favorite Mother) a little more
behind me and a little less hateful of my "weird" attributes. So I've
decided to compromise this year and still come, but drive home on
Saturday early enough that I can pay appropriate homage to the mother
of my children. Hopefully it will all workout.

Love ya,

Gina

Mother's Day Maybe!

I agree whole heartedly with Monique and Annie about the negatives which
seem to bogging us down when we should really be looking to enhance DLV
with positive thoughts and try to cement the many friendships we have
already made so let's forget -Nuns on the run-and the mothers day issue
and try to work around them by getting on with planning 2004.

To quote Gina:-

> Mothers day is pretty much of a whole weekend deal
> The other side of the coin is that I've also
> developed a very strong need to attend DLV and see

Well said, I couldn't agree more. Although my situation is a little
different I understand your concerns completely.

I have given a lot of serious thought to the Mothers day crisis as it is
no small thing for some. So I was toying with the Idea of doing DLV
3-5-04 and having my wife fly down for mothers day and the rest of the
week thereby doing my thing and our thing at the same time with the
added bonus of a real nice mothers day gift (A week or a few days in
Vegas). I know this will not work for everyone but if it only helps one
of the girls to get there in 2004 I thought it was worth mentioning.

Huggs Kate.

Will be good to see you again, Gina!

You're driving home this year? Does this mean you're not bringing an
airplane?

I am airplaneless, the beast is leaving for Scottsdale to be sold. Maybe
the monetary bloodletting will come to an end....

Hi Densie,

I could also go check out in a rental, but then it would be hard for the
rides to be free, which has been a real plus.

OK, we'll see what happens after the first of the year. I may go up
there in advance and check out in a rental 182. T'would be nice if we
could have some serious commitments from people who want to fly the
tour, because it will cost some bux for me to arrange a rental. I made
a request last year that everyone who signed up be sure that they were
serious about going, and only about 25% actually showed. If it's going
to be the same situation this year, our Piper could easily handle the
volume and it won't be necessary to rent.
