Anybody remember LaStrada? (Or am I showing my true age here?) :)

My first impression of Suede was highly positive. This was in the fall
of 2005 and I was very impressed by both the food and the atmosphere. My
impression was that we had found a real winner, a place which had good
food, good drinks, was "safe" enough for those who are a bit shy, and an
atmosphere which did not reek of a bloated closet. It was upscale enough
to satisfy those who wanted a bit more class in DLV venues.

For 2006, Suede rated 4.31 for enjoyment and 4.72 for comfort on the
survey. Not bad at all. :)

I really think the reports of "food poisoning" were exaggerated. True
food poisoning (GI distress from a foodborne bug) typically results in
a moderate to high fever, splitting headaches, and some other obvious
symptoms which I won't describe. :) The first-hand reports I heard were
more along the line of symptoms which are effectively treated with
Alka-Seltzer.

Let's look at the numbers in greater depth here. For the survey this
year, Suede averaged 3.81 on a 1-5 enjoyment scale. Let's break this
down to the number of responses to each answer:
Enjoyed significantly: 18
Enjoyed somewhat: 25
Neutral: 9
Disliked somewhat: 4
Disliked significantly: 4
The majority (43 out of 60) enjoyed it to some degree or another. Only 8
out of 60 disliked it, distinct minority.
We do have high standards. We want to see those numbers up around 4.0
out of 5, and yes, we do expect to see them in that range. 3.81 is
within the ballpark of 4.0, and I don't see how the activity could in
any way be called a failure.
This year Suede scored 4.8 on the comfort scale, slightly higher than in
2006, but a close to ideal rating.
>The registration process was very effective.
We need Tootsye back to do this! :)
>Reading about the opening night at Suede today makes it seem that
>the night was a total disaster. It was far from it.
No, I think that perception is from the fact that there were some
outspoken comments on the survey and that those who complained during
DLV did so very loudly.
My only personal complaint was on drink prices. They were a bit on the
high side.
