The Night Of The Soiled Doves:

This week we feature Tuesday evening's "Night of the Soiled Doves."

News Flash: DLV Takes A Giant Step Backwards!

Yes, we heard you! For 2006 we're going to bring back the atmosphere
that made our first Night of the Soiled Doves, back in 2004, the most
talked-about activity in the history of DLV.

If you are one who wants an activity where it's ok to dress in a manner
that's a bit more flashy or exotic, this is it!

You'll also get the chance to meet some very interesting and outgoing
people, those you might not become acquainted with in everyday life.

We will be attending a very special reception in a rather unique
facility located just outside the Las Vegas metro area. All arrangements
have been made, and our hostesses are expecting us.

Snacks and hors d'oeuvres will be served, full bar will be available.

Participants in Night Of The Soiled Doves will receive a 2006 edition of
the DLV Commemorative Pin. This may be viewed on line at:

http://www.geekbabe.com/dlv/dlv2006/pin2006.jpg

(Pin shown will be larger than actual size on most monitors.)

That's the good news.

The bad news is that in order to bring back the atmosphere of the 2004
Night Of The Soiled Doves we need to limit attendance. Capacity is 36
participants, first signed-first served.

Cost: $15 per person, which includes a DLV 2006 commemorative pin. If
you are not driving modest donation to your driver's fuel fund will be
expected. Bar available, on one's own.

Dress: Just about anything goes. Clubwear/flashy/trashy is not only
appropriate but is encouraged. Just about any "normal" wear from casual
to dressy to formal, boymode or girlmode, is fine too.

Disclaimer: (Don't you just hate these?) The DLV organizers and
volunteers neither endorse nor condemn the particular profession which
is practiced at the venue for this activity. The purpose of our visit
is for a reception, to socialize, to meet some people we might not
ordinarily meet, to celebrate life and to enjoy each other's company.
No additional business is expected of those who attend.

Sounds groovey! However, it's disappointing to see you end the information
about the event with: "No additional business is expected of those who
attend!"

Why not??????

Key word is expected?

But permitted, I assume. Deidre

Let's put it this way ...

When a business, say a boutique or wig salon, puts on an "Open House"
for DLV, it's assumed and expected by both the DLV organizers and the
sponsor that a certain number of our attendees will indeed do business
with them.

That wording was in there just to let everybody know that this is
totally a social activity, and not one to promote business.

>Key word is expected?

That is correct. They do not expect any from this activity.

>But permitted, I assume.

Assuming that I'm not your mother, and that you're of legal age, and you
have desire and money and don't have an obvious social disease, there's
nothing anybody can do to stop you.

One thing to keep in mind. If you are considering this, you might want
to provide your own transportation. We will carpool, and I would hate to
see a carload have to wait for the "party" in the back to conclude. :)

Annie: Honestly, you appear to disapprove of the idea. How come? Hugs,
