Pinkfest Schedule

----------

I would like us to get some ideas down on the schedule sooner than later
since it will be starting in September this year.

For Tuesday, I'd like to suggest we get together at Big Chicks in the
evening. It is a big enough venue just to let people show up as they
want in the evening.

Ginger and I went to the Chicago symphony a couple of years ago, and I
was thinking about going to this performance: Muti, Tchaikovsky & Mutter
- Chicago Symphony Orchestra

Muti, Tchaikovsky & Mutter - Chicago Symphony Orchestra "Muti and Mutter
together is an electric collaboration" (Chicago Classical Review). The
2017/18 season...

For Wednesday, can we plan on Oak Park again? A movie is c= oming out
the weekend before Pinkfest: "Battle of the Sexes" starring Emma Stone
and Steve Carrell about the match between Billie Jean King and Bobby
Riggs. I think it might be fun to see it at the Lake theater in Oak
Park.

There is a Lou Malnati's with outdoor seating right next to the Lake
theater which might be nice for lunch. Oak Park also does a gangster
tour which might be interesting, Maybe Kelly Inc would want to have an
open house again?

Maybe we could do Hamburger Mary's Oak Park after dinner for a night
cap?

Maybe we could pencil in Rogers Park/Evanston on Thursday and see if
Stephanie and Phoebe would like to host events again? We should check
the theatre schedule... especially the Raven. I think R Public House
would be a good spot to end up on Thursday night...

Any thoughts?

Here are a few of my thoughts ...

> For Tuesday, I'd like to suggest we get together at Big Chicks in the

I won't be there Tuesday. I'll fly in on Wednesday. Air schedules are funky this year for some reason. I'll most likely fly in on American and out on Southwest.

> For Wednesday, can we plan on Oak Park again?

I would be all for Oak Park on Wednesday. Oak Park was Tuesday the past couple of years and I missed it due to a standing commitment I have on many Tuesday evenings.

> Maybe we could do Hamburger Mary's Oak Park after dinner for a night
> cap?

I have not been to the Oak Park HMs yet. Ginger appeared to like it last year.

> Maybe we could pencil in Rogers Park/Evanston on Thursday and see if
> Stephanie and Phoebe would like to host events again?

I know I would really enjoy another wine tasting session, followed by R Public House. :)

How about if we get the schedule penciled in by the end of July to give people enough time to plan?

I am all for getting together at Big Chicks on Tuesday night. Anyone else?

Agreed.

That's fine. I won't be there since I'm arriving Wednesday.

I've seeded the scheduling tool with what we've discussed so far. Here's what it looks like, using LWG as a place-holder on the days we haven't discussed. I haven't put in the things that appear iffy at this time.

One note to all:

PLEASE DO NOT USE WORKING SCHEDULES AS FINAL SCHEDULES!

I would like to suggest Twin Anchors for Sunday evening.

I'll be the host(ess) of record.

Any objections?

I would like to see Italian Village Restaurant to make it on the
schedule for a Friday or Saturday night coupled with a theater
play/musical/Broadway-type show. Chicago's Oldest Italian Restaurant |
Italian Village Restaurant

It is a classic Chicago restaurant with great food right in the heart of
downtown, not far from the theater district. But we would definitely
need a solid headcount for reservations for that one.

Sounds good to me.

Which one? Friday? Saturday?

Maybe we can do Navy Pier and the Shakespeare Theatre on Friday?

On Saturday we could do Italian Village and Motown the Musical at the
Cadillac Theate. They are less than 1/2 mile from each other, so take an
Uber if you are wearing heels...

Motown The Musical | Broadway in Chicago

It began as one man's story, became everyone's music, and is now
Broadway's musical. MOTOWN = THE MUSICAL ...
