Evil Dead The Musical - Thursday?

Postby laurawright » Tue Aug 19, 2014 2:06 pm

I would be up for a Broadway Musical - Evil Dead - on Thursday. This looks like fun - anyone interested?

Thursday's schedule would conflict with this... Lou Malnati's is closer to Water Tower where the musical is as well as the Signature Lounge. Maybe Wednesday and Thursday could flip?

Evil Dead The Musical
Thursday, October 9th, 7:30 PM
Playing at: Broadway Playhouse, Water Tower Place, 175 E. Chestnut St.Chicago, IL 60611
Dates: September 23, 2014 - October 12, 2014
Runtime: Two hours with an intermission
Ridiculously funny and bloody awesome! That’s what theatregoers from Toronto to NYC and around the world have been saying about the record-breaking musical comedy sensation that takes all the elements of Sam Raimi’s cult classic films to make one of the craziest theatrical experiences of all time! The only musical in the world where audiences can sit in the “Splatter Zone” and get drenched from the mayhem, or watch from a safe (and dry) distance.

Five college students spend the weekend in an abandoned cabin in the woods and accidentally unleash an evil force that turns them all into demons. It’s all up to our hero, Ash, and his trusty chainsaw to save the day. Evil Dead the Musical, has it all – some dismembered limbs, demons telling bad jokes, and catchy tunes (“Look Who’s Evil Now”, “All the Men in My Life Keep Getting Killed by Candarian Demons”). May be inappropriate for 12 and under. Contains strong language plus a hilarious amount of fake blood, and over-the-top guts and gore! Those seated in the designated ‘Splatter Zone’ VIP seat locations will be splashed by stage ‘blood’ and get increasingly wet over the course of the performance.

Yes, kinda sounds like what happens at a Gallagher show, or the up-front section for Blue Man Group.

Yes, everything is in pencil now. We can easily flip days if needed.

I'm going to be happy with whatever show, symphony performance, and even
opera performance anyone else wants to see, but I do want to do one or
two! The way I look at it, that will insure we are not known as the
group that only eats and drinks in gay bars!

Evil Dead, the Musical looks like fun. I'd be up for going.

Amanda is correct about something wrong with the schedule of concerts
Laura posted. I spot checked and Franz Ferdinand is not playing at the
Vic in October.

We likely need to make a decision on the Evil Dead The Musical for
7:30pm, Thursday evening, October, soon because tickets may go more
quickly since this is going to be near the end of it's Chicago run,
Ticket prices are in the $70-$90 range.

Then if someone who knows the theater would make a suggestion for seats
using the theater map

http://broadwayinchicago.com/show/evil-dead-the-musical/

which appears on a Ticketmaster site when you select the date you want
to attend, the rest of us could get adjoining or at least close seats.
Just a suggestion, but I think it's a good one.

I have seen the musical. I saw it en fem in Vegas at the V Theater and
I was in front row center. The splatter zone you get soaked. It is the
most fun show I have ever seen. That being said you will not be going
out after that if you are in the splatter zone.

Any time someone bleeds they sprayed the audience with cherry juice.

EEeeeewwwww!

Worse than a Gallagher show! At least with Gallagher they give you a plastic trash bag and tell you to wear it.

Then we, at least I, will certainly want to sit in a cheap seat, but
then maybe the splatter zone seats are the cheap seats!

I want to be far from the splatter zone. I do not want to go straight home
after the show.
