I was wondering if it is a usual occurrence to have any events on
the 23rd. I am planning on driving up, from Arkansas, and am trying
to get a time-line for my travels. I would expect some kind of
welcoming event for Thursday evening.

Yes, there will always be something on Thursday evening.

Last year we did Chicago Chop House on Thursday, in 2006 we did a
pizza-pasta place followed by Gentry, the year before we did that
Spanish place on LaSalle followed by a bar.
