Here is my final e-mail on details. I am breaking it up to avoid
sending out one huge e-mail

Saturday:

12:00 noon.: Lunch at Hard Rock Cafe Hard Rock Cafe - 63 W Ontario
(312) 943-2252 If you want to come, just show up. The food and
service is quite good. The prices were OK. And of course you get
to see all the rock and roll memorabilia.

11 am to 10 pm: Open house at Rachel's Wigs and Beauty Salon, 1833 West
Irving Park Road, Chicago, Illinois 60613 (773) 528-6960
www.geocities.com/rachelswigs. Rachel and Velma are having another open
house for Pinkfest. They had a nice spread of hors d'oeuvres for us
last year.

They will also be happy to teach us about make-up, have us try on wigs,
etc. Their shop does cater to the needs of MTF transgender people.
Rachel and Velma have been great supporters of Chicago's transgender
community.

The store is close to the CTA Brown line. I suggest calling the store
for directions. It is also a relatively short drive from both Hard Rock
Cafe (take Ohio east to Lake Shore Drive, north to Irving Park, then
west to store) and to Ann Sathers (take Irving Park east to Halsted,
turn right to go south to Belmont , turn right on Belmont and Ann
Sathers parking is a little past Clark on left side).

6:30 p.m.: Happy hour (Ann Sathers)
7:00 p.m.: Dinner (Ann Sathers)
9ish: Boystown Bars

Ann Sathers 929 W. Belmont (773) 348-2378 on the south side of Belmont
between Sheffield and Clark, just east of the El. Ann Sathers has free
parking in a lot on the south side of Belmont a few doors east of AS's.

Be careful if parking in the residential areas, as many of them are
parking by zone permit only.

If coming by train, take either the Red Line (State St subway) or the
Brown Line (Ravenswood El) to Belmont. AS's is just east of the station
on Belmont.

Meet just inside entrance by bar. Ann Sathers has no liquor licence but
BYOB is OK. I am will to pick up something if you let me know. Ginger
was also generous last year. Ann Sathers will supply us soft drinks as
mixers.

This is also part of a Southern Belle Society Social.

Ann Sathers staff has always treated us great. They have good Swedish
and American food at fair prices.

later: Boystown bars

Please phone to catch up with the group after dinner. My cell phone
number is (847) xxx-xxxx. Keep trying, it may be loud where we are at
the time. :) I am suggesting starting at Sidetracks or Hydrate.

Saturday (10/25/08):

12:00 noon.: Ann Sathers 929 W. Belmont (773) 348-2378 on the south side of
Belmont between Sheffield and Clark, just east of the El. Ann Sathers has
free parking in a lot on the south side of Belmont a few doors east of
AS's.

Be careful if parking in the residential areas, as many of them are
parking by zone permit only.

If coming by train, take either the Red Line (State St subway) or the
Brown Line (Ravenswood El) to Belmont. AS's is just east of the station
on Belmont.

Ann Sathers staff has always treated us great. They have good Swedish
and American food at fair prices. We used go there for dinner Saturday
night but they now close at 4:00 p.m. Saturday. I guess not having a liquor
license makes a difference,

Afterward lunch there is some cool shopping in the Boystown area with some
unique clothing stores. While talking about shopping . . .
11 am to 10 pm: Open house at Rachel's Wigs and Beauty Salon, 1833 West
Irving Park Road, Chicago, Illinois 60613 (773) 528-6960
www.geocities.com/rachelswigs. Rachel and Velma are having another open
house for Pinkfest. They had a nice spread of hors d'oeuvres for us
last year (Velma, please buy less food!). They will also be happy to teach
us about make-up, have us try on wigs, etc. Their shop caters to the needs
of MTF transgender people. Rachel and Velma have been great supporters of
Chicago's transgender community for many years

The store is close to the CTA Brown line. I suggest calling the store
for directions. It is also a relatively short drive from both Anne Sather's
and Cy's Crab House.

6:30 p.m.: Happy half- hour (Cy's Crabhouse)
7:00 p.m.: Dinner (Cy's Crabhouse)

Cy's is at 3819 N. Ashland ((773) 348-2378) which is a little south of
Irving Park. It has plenty of parking across the street. It is less than a
mile from Rachel's. Cy has really good seafood. The crab cakes I had last
year were great. They also had very good service treating us really well.

Cy's is about a mile from Boystown bars so it is marginally walkable. A cab
could be a good option if a few girls share the fare.

later: Boystown bars

There are a number of good bars to go to in the area. I won't even try
guessing where we will go this year. I like Hydrate (where we went last
year) or Sidetracks (where we have gone other years). But then there is
Gentry's or Cocktail or Circuits or Berlin or . . . , well you get the idea.
Just phone me to catch up with the group after dinner. My cell phone
number is (847) 361-2891. I am afraid I won't be with the group because I
need to be at the Tri-Ess meeting the same night. I am Treasurer so I am
stuck going. I will arrange it so I can still help someone trying to find
the group.
