15th Anniversary - Opening Reception

Postby laurawright » Fri Jan 23, 2015 10:32 pm

Since 2015 will be marking the 15th Anniversary of Pinkfest in Chicago (2001 - 2015), I like the idea of planning a few special events. I think it would be a good idea to have a welcome night reception. I am willing to help plan it. Valerie - If you rent accommodations, are you up for that?

I like the idea!

Wow, 15 years. It seems like only yesterday that we first got together in Chicago.

Some of you may not know this, but the reason Pinkfest came to be is that Fall Harvest (formerly one of the larger TG conventions) was cancelled due to 9/11 and a few of us who planned to meet there were disappointed. We decided to get together anyway, and Chicago was centrally located.

We had more fun at the first Pinkfest than we ever would have possibly had at FH! :)

IF it works out that we have a group who wants to share a condo and IF we get one where the host doesn't mind a small reception, then I think having and hosting the reception would be a great idea. I haven't had any nibbles on the offer for roommates, but it's very early so I wasn't really expecting anything yet.

Valerie,

I'll offer a nibble. I'm thinking about making the gala 15th, and if I
do, a condo sounds like a good idea. However, I won't be looking at it
seriously for several months yet.

Hi Annie-honey.

I am very interested in attending Pinkfest again this year. I had a
terrific time in 2011 and think a trip to spend some time with the girls
in the 'Windy City' is long overdue.

How have you been, Annie? It's been some time since we last saw each
other.

Hugs,

-Crystal Frost

LTNS, Crystal! We thought you had fallen off the end of the earth. (Well, maybe into Flushing Creek, that is.) :) :) :)

We're looking forward to having you with us again.

Oh, I've been surviving, getting older, heavier ... :( :)

Life gets in the way as it often does, but these last few years have
been filled with mostly good, positive and productive things. It is hard
to believe that it has been over three years since my first Pinkfest. I
am definitely looking forward to some time away with some of the best
gals I know! <3

And (HINT and shameless plug!) you can see many of those same people in only three weeks at DLV! :)

LOL. Not shameless at all. I wish I could, but my schedule just doesn't
allow for DLV this year. I am going to try and manage it better next
year and possibly attend if the dates work out. Enjoy and please have
some extra fun for me! Hugs!!!
