Late notices and updates
Schedule notes:
- The Absinthe Show will be at 10:00pm on Wednesday,
April 17. Please disregard any previously announced dates
for this activity. Please meet the DLV group at 9:30pm at the tent
entrance for ticket distribution and cocktails.
- The daily lunch is being held at different locations each day
this year. Please be aware of this. The locations on the final
schedule are accurate and may differ from some previously
announced locations.
- Lunch With Ginger will be held at a special time and location
on Wednesday. Please consult the final schedule for details.
- Lunch With or Without Ginger will not be held on Thursday. The
Volunteer and Prospective Volunteer Luncheon (open to all) will be our
"official" lunch for Thursday.
- The Artisan Dining Option for Tuesday evening has been cancelled.
Food service will be available, but it will not be a scheduled DLV
activity.
- Those on waiting lists should consult the Waiting List Instructions
for the particular activities in the notes on the final detailed
schedule.
- Please make careful note of the exact times of such things as
lunches, happy hours, dinners, etc., for the particular days you
are interested in attending. Exceptions to our "standard
times" for these activities occur frequently this year!
- A DLV name tag will be required for admission to the
Erotic Heritage Museum on Wednesday evening. The museum will be
closed to the public but open for registered DLV attendees.
DLV check-in and name tags will be available at the EHM just
prior to the activity.
Early birds:
For those of you who will be in Las Vegas on Saturday, April 13, please
join us for an informal get-together Saturday evening at the Neonopolis
Denny's at the intersection of Fremont Street and Las Vegas Boulevard
in downtown Las Vegas.
Parking is available just north of Fremont Street on the east side of
4th. Street.
Meet the DLV group in the main bar area. No fixed start time but expect
DLV folks to start arriving between 5:00pm and 6:00pm.
This activity and venue will be very "safe" for beginners.
This will be an informal gathering for drinks, socializing, and
optional dining.
THIS ACTIVITY WILL NOT APPEAR ON THE MAIN SCHEDULE.
DLV folks are expected to start arriving between 5:00pm and 6:00pm.
No sign-up, just show up. Boymode or girlmode, casual to dressy.
Mainstream dress, please, no costumes, clubwear, or slutty/fetish
outfits.
Weather:
Advance forecast for Las Vegas for DLV week (subject to change
at short notice):
Mostly fair, highs in the 80s, lows in the 60s,
1-5% or so chance of rain, possibly breezy at
times. (Pack an umbrella. It doesn't rain that often in Las Vegas, but
when it does it POURS!)
Misc. legal items:
- Legislation signed into law last year prohibits the
use of hand-held cell phones and hand-held texting devices when operating
a motor vehicle.
- Recent Legislation
prohibits, among other things, discrimination in the area of public
accommodations with regard to gender identity or expression. As of this
writing, it is unclear what effects, if any, this legislation will have
on the use of gender-designated restrooms in the Las Vegas area. Until an
authoritative legal opinion on this topic emerges, it is strongly
suggested that all DLV attendees follow our long-standing Behavior,
Dress, and Restroom guidelines.
- DUI checkpoints have been reported, sporadically but consistently,
around the Las Vegas metro area. Recently-reported locations include
Flamingo Road and Decatur, along Boulder Highway between Sahara and
Flamingo, eastbound Tropicana just east of the Strip, Valley View and
Desert Inn Road, Rainbow and Blue Diamond Road, and eastbound
Flamingo between Koval and Paradise. Watch it!
- Summons' for pedestrian infractions such as jaywalking and walking
against signals have been reported in the downtown and Four Corners
(Flamingo-Strip) areas. Reported fines are in the $100.00-ish range.
- Bike officers have been citing motorists who run a "stale
yellow" northbound on Las Vegas Boulevard (Strip) at Flamingo.
The officers are not visible south of the intersection.
Possible confusing vendor and venue names and locations:
We have a number of activities this year happening in venues
which have confusingly similar names or multiple locations
throughout the Las Vegas area.
Here's a summary of those activities happening in locations
which may be easily confused:
