Even if I flew on airlines, I would not want to fly Southwest. Hey,
let's open up the gate and everybody fight over the seats, yeah, that's
a good idea. Then we'll come in with cattle prods and pack your a$$es
in so that we can squeeze a few more in. Then we'll sit on the ramp for
eight hours, because we lost our slot while trying to pack ten more
people into the restrooms and overhead bins.
All of this bargain hunting is the biggest problem with the airlines.
Ever since deregulation, they have had to skimp on service, space and
maintenance because nobody cares about anything but the lowest fare.
Almost nobody. Just as there are a few stores that still sell quality
merchandise, because not everyone wants to buy crap at Wal-mart, there
are a few airlines left that charge a little more and give better
service. I think one of them is called Midwest Air Commuter. If I were
going to fly, I would find out who has the legroom and service and pay
the difference.
