(updated Dec. 17, 2005)
The hotel suggestions for DLV 2006 are just that, suggestions. There's no requirement that you stay in our suggested hotels. No advance arrangements have been made, no rooms have been reserved specifically for DLV, and no special rates have been negotiated. (History has shown that the "special group rates" offered to groups of our size by Las Vegas hotels are actually higher than those available to the general public via the web.) |
(in alphabetical order)
These suggestions are made for those who want to know where our people have stayed and reported good service, and where to stay if they want to be near other DLV people.
Las Vegas hotel rates for any given hotel vary considerably depending on where you book (hotel, web site, travel agent), when you book, who you talk to, and countless other factors. Sometimes a hotel's own web site or reservation desk will quote the lowest rate for their hotel, many times they will not. Sometimes the hotel's web site will quote a lower rate than their reservations department or vice versa. Sometimes travel sites (like Travelocity) or an independent travel agent will be able to beat a hotel's own quoted rates, and sometimes they will not. It is suggested that you check the hotel's web site, phone the hotel, check the travel sites, and check with a travel agent and compare all quoted rates.

Imperial Palace: |

Imperial Palace is a large midscale casino-hotel in the Center Strip area. Big advantage to the IP is location-location-location. The IP has been used by DLV people each year since 1997 with absolutely no reported incidents.

Hint: Imperial Palace desk personnel have been known to adjust rates on the spot at check-in if better rates are available. Ask!
Monte Carlo: |
![]() |
The Monte Carlo is an upper-midscale casino hotel located toward the south end of the Las Vegas Strip.
This is the first year that the Monte Carlo has been a suggested hotel for DLV, but our attendees have reported good service and a high comfort level when staying there for previous DLVs.
The Monte Carlo is the newest, nicest, and most expensive of our suggested hotels for DLV 2006.

Sahara: |

The Sahara is one of the classic legacy Las Vegas casino-hotels which has been home-away-from-home to DLV people continuously since 1999. Very good rates are often available at the Sahara, if booked well in advance.

Hint: Reservations agents will often quote an additional $10 (or so) for "deluxe" rooms in the newer Tangiers tower. If you reserve a regular room, you have a significant chance of being given one of these "deluxe" rooms at check-in even though you will be paying the lower rate.
