The Sahara appears to be the most competitive of the major hotels on the
Strip with regard to published black-and-white rates. I paid $42 weekdays
and $79 weekend for DLV 2004. I had originally booked at $49 weekdays,
but the price was lowered and they didn't even question it when I asked
to be rebooked at the lower rate.
I have never had a bad room at the Sahara. The room I had last year at
the Sahara was on par with the newer tower rooms at the Stardust, which
was about 25% higher.
IIRC, both the Imperial Palace and San Remo were about 10% higher and
the Boardwalk was about 20% higher than the Sahara when I checked rates
just prior to booking.
