Hi,
While I've never stayed at NYNY I have visited the former lots and lots
of times. I've never had any problems although there are a couple of
things you may want to be aware of.
The car park building is reasonably distant from the casino across
fairly desolate internal passageways. One of them goes through the games
arcade where there are usually quite a few children and teenagers etc.
NYNY also seems to be one of the few hotels that continues to run
security checks on inbound vehicles. The other is Bellagio, which does a
trunk check, while NYNY has someone that wants to see photo ID. Last
time I was there it seemed like it was done only intermittently.
The NYNY / Excalibar / Luxor / MGM / Trop corner is a great place to
stay if you want to go visit all those particular hotel / casino's.
Plenty to do.
I seem to recall eating at the Mexican restaurant at NYNY about 2 or 3
years ago. No drama affair and was well treated.
Apart from the incident Annie referred to TI seems like a reasonably
friendly place and while I haven't been there as often as NYNY or some
other hotels I've never had any problems when I have been there. TI
seems like a convenient place if you were in town for the Thu / Fri of
DLV as its near to show location at the Venetian.
Just to put then above in perspective I haven't really had that many
issues at any of the places in Las Vegas. The worst was being called
"Sir" by a couple of half cut / drunk 20 something guys in Bellagio one
night. Probably wasn't looking the best when it happened.
If you're comfortable with parking lot ID and passageway walkways from
there to the casino then NYNY is an OK place.
Hope this helps
Hugs
Michelle
