Howdy girls (and others),

I thought its about time to to add some more fuel to the fire so to
speak to the ongoing discussion about this that and everything else
insubstantial!

Rest rooms
==========

As a long time "full time women in Las Vegas" I have yet to have a a
rest room incident. It may or may not happen in the future, who knows.
While this may upset some the reality is that some of us are more
passable than others. Some are more innocuous than others. Some of us
are more circumspect than others. Some of us may be more sensible than
others.

For those that are less passable, somewhat outgoing, less circumspect or
lack the biological understanding of how females urinate may I strongly
suggest that you don't use the Ladies restrooms. In Las Vegas, or
anywhere!

It seems to me, and I could be wrong, I admit that, the problem with
restroom incidents is not widespread. It also seems that the incident
comes from indiscreet, outgoing or otherwise flaunting behaviour before,
during or after said restroom excursion.

There are some of us that look more like men in dresses...YES really!
There are some of us that go out of our way to get noticed...YES really!
Its only matter of time before there's a problem; YES REALLY! The only
thing that surprises me is that it doesn't happen more often!

Putting this in perspective though... I was looking through my photos
from DLV 2003 and the standard and presentation of nearly everyone is
extremely high. I have to say I think the problems with restrooms is
with a small minority and it relate to blatant disregard for the some
basic discretionary tactics!

Inappropriate Dress
===================

I commented to Annie at the Trop on the Monday after DLV that I thought
the dressing / makeup / presentation quality had been extremely good.
She gave me a funny look and then we moved on and talked of other
things. Since then of course she's made a some comments and
inappropriate dress.

Even in retrospect, hindsight and looking at the photos while sober I
find it hard to say there's really a big issue. Peer pressure is such
that many those that continually flaunt the norms will some be made
unwelcome and / or realise there mistakes. Mistakes...we all make them
and I can't say that I've always dressed appropriately for every
occasion... Boy or girl mode.

Now, having said that, I think we, as a group need to jump on those,
figuratively speaking, that continually embarrass us all.

The Dark Side!
==============

Yes there are those that will whinge about every aspect of the
organisation, even though its free and entirely voluntary in nature and
execution. They'll whinge about too much, too little, wrong day, wrong
hour, the weather, the position of the moon, whatever.

For those that have complained about what the organisation team
did...GET A LIFE!

I can't believe anyone who followed the instructions for registering for
the EVENT and all the activities wouldn't know what they had to do.

As I said... And I hope those people get to read it... GET A LIFE!!!!!

Having said that any event with as many activities is GOING TO HAVE some
hiccups. DLV2003 had a few. NO shows caused some problems. Ticketing
machines caused a delay. But for something that had a hundred disperse,
variation of transgendered people coming from (literally) all parts of
the world, it wasn't anything less of brilliantly executed.

Did I say that those that whinged...SHOULD GET A LIFE!

Vendors of note and not
=======================

For those who like to do the solo thing in Las Vegas I enjoyed the food
and service at:

Cheese Cake Factory (Ceasars Palace Shops)
Bertolinis (Ceasars Palace Shops)

The following Casinos were great:

Excalibar
Las Vegas Hilton
Ceasars Palce
Bellagio (especially Charles Bar and the Café there)

The Not's? Well can't say I remember having problems anywhere. Thatıs
good...isn't it?

Actually when I REALLY think about it there were two places that I felt the
service wasn't quite what I expected:

- Flex
- Goodtimes

Well thatıs my two cents worth. Those that have been here for years
should realise that this years two cents may be worth more than last
year given the relative strength of the New Zealand dollar to the US
dollar! :-)

Hugs
Regards
Thanks
Michelle
