First of all, I don't really have a dog in this fight from
a personal standpoint, since it appears that all of the
proposed timeframes will be about equally workable for me.

Therefore, what I want to see is the timeframe which will
give us our absolute best turnout, and a timeframe which
has no significant conflicts for volunteers.

Which brings me to this ...

Three of our proposed timeframes are prior to Easter, which
means that there is a significant chance that DLV will
occur during Lent in 2011.

I'm not Catholic, but I believe that at least 20% of our
attendees and potential attendees are. I would like to hear
from our Catholic sisters (and brothers), and from others who
celebrate Lent, as to the degree that you think holding DLV
within the span of Lent might impact our turnout.

It's my understanding that to many, Lent is a time for such
things as self-restraint and self-denial. "I gave that up
for Lent."

I'm wondering if many of our attendees might "Give up DLV
for Lent" or might experience either some introspective
or some external pressure to do so.

Comments, gang?
