Suggested Hotels for Diva Las Vegas 2012

(Last updated December 4, 2011)

Diva Las Vegas, unlike most of the other major TG events, is not centered around a hotel. Our activities occur all over the greater Las Vegas area. All of our suggested hotels will be within approximately equal proximity to most DLV activities.

The hotel suggestions for DLV 2012 are just that, suggestions. There's no requirement that you stay in our suggested hotels. Although all have been known to provide good service and to treat members of our group the same as all other guests, there are no guarantees of attitude or satisfaction.

The following hotels are suggested for DLV 2012 attendees:

(in alphabetical order)

  • Artisan
  • Imperial Palace
  • Paris

These suggestions are made for those who want to know where our people have stayed and reported good service, and where to stay if they want to be near other DLV people. For those who will not have a vehicle, it is highly recommended that you stay in one of our suggested hotels in order to coordinate the sharing of rides (at the rider's own risk, of course) with others.

A few notes on each hotel, including each hotel's official web site.

Artisan:

The Artisan is an off-strip nongaming "boutique" hotel located at the I-15 and Sahara Avenue junction. It is elegant and classy, yet competitively priced.

The Artisan is the "safest" option of our DLV 2012 suggested hotels. The management and staff have a history of inviting TG business. The Artisan is suggested for those who may be shy of traversing a crowded casino and hotel lobby.

Imperial Palace:

Imperial Palace is a very large lower-priced casino-hotel in the Center Strip area. Big advantage to the IP is location-location-location. The IP has been used by DLVers each year since 1997 with few issues.

Hint: Imperial Palace desk personnel have been known to adjust rates on the spot at check-in if better rates are available. Ask!

Update: It's been reported that the "$20 trick" does not work at the IP.

Special notes on the Imperial Palace for DLV 2012

Construction of the Linq project will be ongoing just south and southeast of the Imperial Palace during DLV 2012. The desk staff has assured us that there will be minimal impact to hotel guests and casino customers during this phase of construction.

The "Capri" buldings of the IP (low-rise motel rooms adjacent to the parking structure) will be demolished as part of the Linq project and will not be available for DLV 2012.

It is planned that the name Imperial Palace will be phased out during the next two years. The rights to the Imperial Palace trademark will be expiring and renewal is not expected. The new name, yet unknown, may or may not be in place by the time DLV 2012 occurs.

Paris:

The Paris is a very large upscale casino-hotel located just south of the "Four Corners" Flamingo-Strip intersection.

The Paris is the first major Strip hotel to actively invite GLBT business (note that they have included the T).

The Paris is very nice, but not cheap! It also tends to be crowded, particularly on the weekends. Countless shops and eateries grace the property. The Eiffel Tower is a major attraction and offers a spectacular view of the Strip!

One caveat: Although the Paris promises that their staff will be TG-friendly, this is a very large casino-hotel and tends to be crowded at times.

Request: Even though Paris avows to be GLBT-friendly, we ask that you follow restroom guidelines closely if you choose to use public restrooms on this property. Please help set a positive example of Diva Las Vegas and the TG community in general.

If none of these hotels are particularly appealing to you as a DLV attendee, please take a look at the various hotels listed on our Big List. Two categories are listed, Casino-Hotels and Non-gaming Hotels. The hotel categories begin about 2/3 down on the page.
