We haven't had a general announcement mailing for some time, but there
have been a few general questions and several join the list over the
past week or so.
First of all, to those who just joined the list! Hope you can join us
this coming October. If there are any questions or concerns, please
let us know.
Most common question has been along the line of how many people will be
attending. Best answer: We don't know. My best guess is that there will
be somewhere between 20 and 30 total, with never the entire group in
any one place at one time.
Schedule: Still in a planning phase. Elena just posted a working copy of
the schedule to the list last week. See the next note on list archives.
If you're new to the list (or even if you're not) you might want to take
a look at the back mailings, as many of your questions will be answered
there before you even ask them. :)

Hotels: No designated or official hotel. As of this time I know we have
people staying at the Hilton Gardens (Grand & State) and the Red Roof
Inn (Ontario and St. Clair).
Basically you have two main options for hotels for Pinkfest. Hotels
in the downtown region, which cost a bit more, $85 or so per night
on up to several hundred, and those out in the burbs for far less.
One thing to be aware of, for hotels in the downtown Chicago area, free
guest parking is the exception and not the rule. It will typically run
$20 or so per day. If you want to be using your vehicle for local
transportation, be sure your hotel's parking includes in-out privileges
and be sure to check the hours of operation of your hotel's garage.
Activities: Our schedule is filling, but there are a few open timeslots,
particularly during the daytime. If there's something that you would
like to do, and you think the group (or part of it) would like to do it
as well, please speak now.
Mailing list removal: If you don't want to receive these mailings, just
say so. Removal is prompt, and you won't get your address added to spam
lists by requesting removal. However, we've received a few comments to
the effect of "I'm not going to be able to attend so you might as well
take me off the list" and such. There's no requirement to attend to be
on the list. If you just want to listen in, or perhaps to plan for next
year, that's perfectly fine.
I think that's all of the items that have come in lately, if there's
something missing, or any other questions or concerns, just write in.
