Pinkfest 2004 (Oct. 21-23 or 24) is getting closer.

For Friday and Saturday, I think the concensus is too follow along what
was done mostly from last year. Last years schedule was:

Friday:
   6:30pm: Happy half-hour (Ed's)
7:00pm: Dinner at Ed's, retro dress encouraged
9:30pm: Gentry on State, Rudy's show

Saturday,:
   7:00pm: Happy half-hour
   7:30pm: Dinner (Ann Sathers)
    later: Boystown (Sidetracks)

The biggest change is that Rudy de la Mor will not be in Chicago during
Pinkfest. He is only playing at Gentry's August 31-October 2. I am not
sure who is playing at Gentry's during Pinkfest. This is still a little
early, places are still filling in their calenders.

Something that has potential is Diva Diaries.
http://www.divadiariesthemusical.com/

It is a musical staring Alexandra Billings and Honey West. There are
shows at 7:00 and 10:00 on Friday and Saturday. They are playing at
Belmont and Broadway which is fairly close to Ann Sathers. I have seen
both perform individually and they are quite good. They both perform
sometimes at Gentry on Halsted. Their shows are cabaret/jazz music.
They sang with piano accompanment. I am not sure how well tickets will
sell. If we want to do this, buying advance tickets would be a good
idea. I just don't know how that would work with the structure of
Pinkfest. If advance tickets are a problem, I can check on Friday or
Saturday to see if tickets are available.

The Baton is always a possiblity too. They still have very good drag
shows. Times are 8:30, 10:30 and 12:30. For Friday and Saturday shows,
reservations should be made. Again, this could be a problem with the
structure of this group. We can try calling last minute for reservation
instead of walking over, waiting in a line to find they are sold out.

It might be simplier to eat a Ed's Friday, then go to Gentry's on State
or someplace else in that general area with good entertainment that does
not require advance tickets.

Saturday night dinner at Ann Sather's was very good and I would like to
go there again. BYO liquor worked OK there but I can check and find a
good resturant in that area with a liquor license if you all want.

Sidetracks (where we went last year) and Gentry's on Halsted are good. I
can come up with other boys town bars if we want to go bar hopping.

There was some discussion about a boat trip during the day. October is
not prime boat trip time in Chicago. Many boats do have large enclosed
areas. I have friends who have gone on boat trips. I can check into
this if there is interest.

Again, questions?

Feedback please!
