HI

In the South suburbs of chicago we have a gender group called the Island
Girls. We meet twice a month -- once for a business meeting and then
for a social night. However on Friday nights some of us get together in
Calumet City for a few drinks and what ever at the 4 LGBT clubs in that
town. We start at Dicks R U Crazy Around 9pm. Dicks is a gay bar with
an outside patio. If its warm out, its a nice quiet place to sit and
relax, have a drink and travel on from. Inside there is a pool table,
music and always a crowd. Parking is on the street. Just east of Dicks
is a very nice restraunt called Lauers. Soft lights and a straight crowd
with good food. A few of the girls have gone there dressed and had no
problems. But they were extremely passable.

Around 10pm we travel a few blocks (3) over to a place called the
Patch. It is a lesbian bar with some off street parking but mostly on
street parking. Pool tables music and a very female dominated crowd
(lesbian). On Some Fridays there is even live entertainment. But not
every Friday. Around 11pm we travel over to John L's about 1.5 blocks
away. John is a real supporter of the gender and gay community. The
crowd is mixed. By mixed I mean gay, straight, Bi, and of course TG.
John is usually out in the crowd buying people a drink. Very loud
music, a pool table and just a good old neighborhood bar atmosphere.
Parking is on and off street.Mostly on street. The person tending bar
Tamera Lee is TS and was once Miss Continental I'm told. The crowd is
always friendly, and Tamnera is always willing to have a conversation.
especially if she knows you are from out of town.

From there, around 11pm, we go over to the Poor House. It is a
show/Dance club. Ernie runs the place. He's always nice to the girls
and usually there is someone doing a show. The crowd is friendly. The
music is modern dance sort of disco or retro. Parking is on the street
only. It closes at around 4am

For those staying in Lansing Cal City is close for them to drive to
their motel.

Hope this helps you a little

Have fun
Hugggs
Diane
